Guys honestly stop trying to have intelligent conversations with the Picard haters, look at their childish discussions with each other. You're just wasting your time. They went from having actual intelligent conversations (Does a transporter kill you?) to comparing Star Trek to Marvel and blah blah hate everything blah blah Kurtzman will make Picard live forever blah blah Picard is in the timeline that it's not blah blah blah.
There's so many things you can watch these days, no one forced them to watch these shows they hate so much, they're just a couple of old whiners who are upset and in denial that times and the world have changed. Same crybabies any popular franchise has where they say they'll stop watching it, but then continue to watch it religiously till the end, bitching all the way. I'd love them to prove me wrong there, but they won't, they'll watch it, cry about it, say it sucks, and circle jerk each other while the rest of us enjoy and appreciate that the time was taken to revisit a story we could have lost had actors not made it this far in life.
I just wish I could unsubscribe to this thread so I didn't keep having to get notifications every time one of these trolls posts their dumb one or two line unintelligible responses. Oh wait, I can! Goodbye Knixon, Nexus, znexyish, Wolf359, and mcse2000ca ya bunch of freakin losers.
Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split ya
After VOTING for 30 YEARS one understands PLENTY about VOTING and about how it's a TOTAL WASTE of TIME when one is located in as HEAVY a GERRYMANDERED DISTRICT as the one I'm in now.
Plus they also send you a SUMMONS for JURY DUTY each time you vote.
So that's 2 good reasons not to bother with doing it.
PLUS now one could also get that DAMN VIRUS and DIE as well.
Sorry you don't also have a DEGREE and didn't GRADUATE with HONORS.
No reason to keep showing so much ENVY just because you don't have one.
See, you just proved that you really don't know that much about voting. In particular, about "gerrymanderinger" and what it does. And what it DOESN'T do. But there are other problems too. I'm thankful every day that I went into a rational, logical field like computer science, not something that gives me the idea that I know things that I don't. Such as that fictional characters written by other people don't actually exist, and what they "say" doesn't represent reality. Pointing to a transcript or whatever of them "saying" something, doesn't give it any more validity. It's only what some writer thought might be cool or whatever, and might not even be what the WRITER actually thinks. (In the cases of Discovery and Picard, I certainly hope that's the case, but sadly, it probably isn't.)
I don't talk about Star Trek TOS or the others, the same way Invidia talks about Discovery and Picard. Hopefully any outsider can see that. (Maybe unless they also have a literature degree...)
Also, gerrymandering has nothing to do with state-wide elections such as governor, senator, and ultimately even President. Anyone who doesn't know that - and say it without having to be prompted like I just have - should have their As in Political Science revoked. "Voting Doesn't Matter Because Gerrymandering" is a D at best.
But as with many other subjects in "education" these days, I suspect it's been some time since "political science" actually taught reality.
And that's leaving aside that someone with a degree in literature should also know things like that A's is not proper.
Why did this become an argument about US politics??
Don't know don't ask me maybe because someone thinks that all that don't like Picard are Trump supporters.Which gives us a kind of strange paradox since it would be in the best interest of these Star Trek fans that he gets re-elected since that would result in the story writing for Star Trek they seem to like.

Well that just shows how stupid that argument is I can't stand the orange buffoon and still think Picard was for simpletons what does that make me lol a want to be? haha
I share the same sentiment.I actually checked the sites of both Netflix and Amazon Prime in the Netherlands and neither STP and STD are in the top 50 of most watched shows on both streaming services while TNG is in the top 50 of Netflix
(and Star Trek only became available on Netflix after the deal with CBS so more people prefer to watch a 33 years old Trek show over the newest Trek show)

30 years from now, nobody will be watching PIC or DSC, but I'm sure people will still be watching TNG.
