Depends on your tolerance for extreme violence, extreme language and extremely black humour. I'm behind because Mme LeMarchand can't stomach it (1/2 way through S3) but I'm enjoying it. This pre-release short gives you some idea of the humour and language (NSFW!) but not the violence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_EBn918k4E

What kind of violence? Is it 'superhero' movie violence? Or horror/slasher movie violence? That clip made me chuckle.
It's more "R-rated" violence. The superfast hero/pedestrian interaction mentioned in the clip happens within 6 minutes and she doesn't go flying, he runs through her leaving a cloud of blood, teeth and a bit of spine that hangs there in slow motion for a beat.

Thanks. I'm binging 'Spooks' right now so when I'm done with it I'll give 'The Boys' a go.
Didn't think it would be up your street. As it goes on the satirical element gets stronger, though apparently some sections of the US population have missed this and see Homelander as the hero ! It only gets cruder, though. Let's just say "Antman" type super + cocaine + urethra gets messy.

Just reading that last sentence made my skin crawl.

I watched the first episode & will not be continuing. It was way too crude & a bit boring.

It would seem that the penny has finally dropped, along with audience scores (among that segment) for the show.
