The old show is finished, there's no season 9. There's only the new show, with a season 1.

That one has been added to alternatives, because you see original titles don't change after the initial run. Just like we don't adopt DVD titles. All title changes go in alternatives.

On the mod forums, they are inaccessable for regular users. It's used by moderators to decide courses of action. Banana posted back then to double check that Will & Grace was a new show, and Travis said yes, and we all agreed.

btw: my official say on the matter, is you guys made the wrong decision, when not allowing the "season 9".

Because, those pages haven't been updated since 2010 or sometimes, when the tv database started out.

As mentioned: there's an contribution bible coming up with almost every single rule and hints we have. We've been working on it since February this year, and Travis is gonna publish it soon. I heard he already heard back from his designer about it. So fingers crossed!

I know this site will lose users back to e.g. "thetvdb" if to many issues like this, that force people to rename the files before scraping the show (if even that is enough, when the same show have the same name?)

To each their own, I'd say.

You can always use .nfo files. And I don't know how other media systems works, but Plex lets your fix incorrect matches! At every files there's a function tools named like that and you can manually search and select the right title to fetch metadata from.

Problems you (Travis) need to fix because of this old/new show thing:

Don’t add freebase. It no longer exist. Also. Adding tvdb and imdb wont help much as their data of season 1 wont match the new show.
