Discuter de The Gifted

I recently saw the pilot episode of The Gifted and even though I'm not a fan of X-men series, I found the episode quite interesting. Is it worth watching though? I saw some reviews on IMDB that criticised the show for lacking humour and this being Marvel's Twilight.

It is slightly above average. Much of its themes and plot are tired retreads but the acting is decent to good and it manages to do some surprising things with a little edge. I personally cannot stand any of the CW hero shows and also don't like Gotham. This show is better than those but not as good as Agents of Shield and nowhere near the quality of Legion.

It's worse than Agents of Shield? I was gonna give it a go. I'm def not now.

At its best, AoS is pretty good. Last season was very good. But at times AoS is fairly low in quality so I should qualify this by saying that Gifted is sometimes better than AoS. Both are B-grade stuff that require some patience and/or dedication.

But, yeah, easily skipable. If you've liked nothing at all from Shield then pass on this. Similar levels of quality.

I personally really enjoy it. If you liked the pilot and liked it I say keep going.

If you are an X-Men fan its a good watch. Though I am biased as I watch everything sci-fi. (Surprise twist- i have never watched a Star Wars film, didn't have to I knew everything from people around me :-)) It does seem to be picking up. I will give it another season to develop- Similar to Ray Donovan the first season or half I was like what am i wasting my time for - now I cant wait for the next episode.

Yes, it's in many ways the most balanced superhero TV show to date. It's not boring like the netflix shows, and has more a a story arc rather than episodic plots like in Agents of Shield. If you like the X-men films, you'll like The Gifted.

Yeah, I agree. In terms of story telling it's one of the best superhero shows out right now. The Netflix ones move super slow and really don't have enough material to fill their 13 episode seasons. And episodic dramas like AoS just get boring after a while. The Gifted keeps things moving while still being able to dive into characters and create compelling story arcs.

Plus Natalie Alyn Lind is AAH SO EASY on the eyes. I think I'm in love <3

WTF are you on guys? AOS is so not episodic.

Like FunRoyal said. AOS is not episodic. Do you watch it?

Does it get more serialized as it goes along? And when I say serialized I mean completely arc driven. Not a mix of standalone stories with ongoing stories.

I watched up to about halfway through season 2. And i'd say it did get a bit more arc driven. But it was still fairly episodic when I stopped watching it.

Season 3-4 all arc driven. S5 I haven't watched yet.

The Hydra arc (A-) starts near the end of S1 and the Inhuman arc (C+) starts near the middle of S2

SHIELD is definitely pure arc driven at this point.
