Mezga's and Maris neighbour are taken captive by the mafia in South America and ransom is needed for them. Maybe Pisti Hufnagel can pay, but someone needs to get to America to let him know. The glass-eyed police captain who is the the boss of the thugs sends Paula and Kriszta to Florida, but what will happen Geza and Aladar? And what about neighbour Maris? Meanwhile Pisti Hufnagel organises a fundraiser in America for the benefit of the hostage Hungarians.

A cselekmény szerint Mézgáék és Máris előbb-utóbb kiszabadulnak a maffia rabságából, Máris azonban újból csapdába esik, Paula és Kriszta pedig egy magát rendőrnek kiadó maffiózó segítségével Floridába utaznak Hufnágel Pistihez, Gézát és Aladárt viszont megint elkapja és börtönbe csukja a maffia.
