Bespreek The OA

So, part of what is happening on this show involves the response by law enforcement. For instance, the alleged FBI victim's representative showing up in the house at the same time as the kid and whether he put the books there or not. There is a vid on youtube which points out that she might not even be able to read because she only knew braille and Cyrillic. Of course seven years would be enough time to learn. But all of the books looked brand new and I don't think she would of read them and created this world and then purchased new copies and placed them to incriminate herself so it seems like it was that guy. But when she is in the early scene with the FBI agents, they're barely cross examining her. They're passive. So if this show is actually about going to other dimensions, are these officers actually inter-dimensional agents sent to obstruct her or are they actually FBI who are in conspiracy to conceal an abductor?

I personally think the FBI guy planted them. Why else be in that house at that hour when no one was home.

As far as her being able to read, she must have learned while in captivity after her eyesight returned. Remember her bugging her mother for internet access so she could search for the other captives? She finally got a connection and did start searching.

She might have learned to read as a child, before going blind. That's an interesting theory about the books being planted, though. What was the FBI doing in the house, anyways?

And how did all the families show up in the abandoned attic at the same time?

Also, why did Steve's Dad decide to let him stay home instead of sending back to military school?

And why did Phylis give all of her money to those two degenerates. That was so cringe. It was as bad as the movements.

Yeah that was a bit stupid - the paedophile accusation would have worked better as it would have also avoided the plot hole of why Steve wasn't sent to military school eventually.

Regarding the FBI guy planting the books; it makes sense considering he was there at an odd hour but to what level of detail did the OA explain her story to him? Surely not the same as to the five?
