I think Mr. Soloman stole the show though.
I like that its going to focus on capers. I think I even like the cast better. Here's hoping it last as long or even surpasses it's parent show.

i didnt see enough on Tom for it to have a viable main show, I´m quite skeptic. only gonna watch later... im assuming its the same "pace/genre/style" has blacklist?

That's just it, I think they (the producers behind the show) knew that Tom himself, while interesting, isn't enough to bring in viewers every week. But Solomon is. He's the closest thing the show has to a Raymond Reddington, a resourceful character with charm and wit and a way with words.
Sort of. Like I said its a caper, which is the main difference from the Blacklist. That and it seems to be working in reverse a bit. The Blacklist teased for most of its run if Red is or isn't Liz's father, this time we know who Tom's parents are we just don't know which one is trustworthy. Also the Blacklist is about capturing major criminals, the spin-off seems to be about rescuing people that may be in the underworld or that the US government won't touch for political reasons.

to be honest what grabbed me from the start was Red. His character and how well is played by James. When the show got a bit boring ( or lets call it "same old same old" every single episode ) He was the one that made me stick to it. every time i see a spin off i always have the main show in mind ( yes, its a mistake ) so i hardly enjoy them :/
ps: what is a caper? :S

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caper_story
"The typical caper story involves one or more crimes (especially thefts, swindles, or occasionally kidnappings) perpetrated by the main characters in full view of the reader. The actions of police or detectives attempting to prevent or solve the crimes may also be chronicled, but are not the main focus of the story."
This is kind of the opposite of the parent show, where its "how will we catch this Blacklister." Though its not above using capers from time to time as b-plots (typically Red's side of things).

I enjoyed it. Being a huge Blacklist fanboy, this new series feels good. I'm not sold on Solomon character, but he is well written, compared to the actor's last tv adventure playing a young Doctor. I just hope they DO drag the reveal to Scotty. Give Tom a reason NOT to tell her. Whatever, drag it out as long as they can.

I don't mind if they drag out the reveal BUT I am gonna mind if they keep setting up these sexual tension scenes between him and his Mom while they drag it out. No thanks.

Yeah, that is kind of gross -- no, not kind of. It's weird and just gross.

Waiting for three episodes to come out before I give it a go.
Y'all say it's good, though?

Yeah, Red carries the main show, no doubt. But I liked episode number 1 of the redemption. We will have to see how well it holds up. But Tom is a strong character in both the main show and this spinoff. There is still the tension between him and Solomon due to his attack on Liz. This show has potential. I will give it a good chance.
