I'm watching this, lol.

He reminds me of a guy and gal I used to know over 17 years ago. He was just as stupid and whipped as Jorge is. There is no shaking any sense into him. Just like there's no shaking any sense into the guy I used to know. His "wife," (and I use that term VERY loosely) started crying four hours after their wedding ceremony because she was convinced she'd just made the biggest mistake of her life and he had to beg her to remain his wife. Fast forward about three or four years and she comes home one day to say she wants a divorce. Whipped boy begs her to stay. So she gives him a major condition. She'll stay if she can have an open marriage. Idiot boy agrees.

Sometimes there just is no reasoning with people like this. They walk into it with their eyes open and are so weak as individuals that they are desperate to hang on to their spouse at any cost. So in this case, you've got Jorge who knows that Anfisa is probably going to be the only woman willing to put up with him and his bull, and so he gives in to her demands all the time because he doesn't want to be alone. So he thinks this emotional abuse is what he has to pay to have a pretty wife, or a wife at all.

Basically, on this show, with the possible exception of Loren and Alexi, and maybe Chantel and Pedro, I don't see much hope for the rest of these people.

And I still have to wonder in Pedro and Chantel's case just how much was really hidden. I'm sorry, but the family knows he's moving in with her to supposedly study but it's a studio apartment? So, where did they think he was going to sleep? So I'm still suspicious that their story is fake and the family already knew. Regardless, River is a total asshole, and I hate him, and I think that it's going to come to blows between Pedro and River and I hope Pedro kicks River's ass.

Danielle has some serious mental issues, but I do agree that Mohamed used her and does need to be deported. I don't feel bad for him and his situation at all. At the same time, she needs to get over this obsession she has with him. It's supposed to be OK for her to find someone new, right? But she keeps being petty and continues to be jealous of him and the women he chooses to be with. She makes the comment that they're still married and he shouldn't be doing what he's doing but how is that different from her finding someone else while they're still married. That's called a hypocrite.

I like Alexi but I think he's a total chauvinist and if he doesn't start wising up, he and Loren will wind up divorced and it's a shame because they seem like they could make things work if she would grow up and he would wise up and stop putting 1950s values on his marriage when we're in the 21st Century.

Then there's Paola and Russ). I don't know. I like them, but I think that she didn't really give his home a chance, but expects him to just let her do whatever she wants. And that she doesn't defend her husband against her so-called friend? He's very disrespectful. I wouldn't put up with that if someone was disrespectful to or of my husband. You just don't do that.

So, that's my two cents.

I don't any hope for Loren and Alexi. Give it five years and Loren will be over it. It's funny she whined the whole first season for Alexi, and now she has him. Personally, I don't think they are bad people. I just believe they are not good for each other.

Well, she said he was on a student visa. I think the family knew they were having sex, but they didn't think they were getting married.

That's just a typical bratty teen looking out for his sister. He doesn't know Pedro, and Pedro -- as the adult -- should understand.

They are simply not a match. He's too rigid and she's on eggshells. Even if he did compromise a bit, it would not be enough. It's his way or the highway. During the first season, I couldn't stand Lauren. All she did was whine for Alexi, and now she has him.

She's not going to defend her husband, because she knows her friend is telling the truth. She's not a housewife. She's not meant to live in Oklahoma and her husband is too passive.

I guess I am just hoping somehow things work out for Loren and Alexei. Maybe she's just the type that wants something really bad until she has it, and then moves on to the next? I don't know. I'm not disagreeing that they're very different types of people and that she is definitely an American city girl, and he's good in a quiet area and wants a job and kids, etc. I am wondering if after he gets a job he's going to expect her to quit hers. I don't see that going down well with her. One thing that bothers me about her though is that she is very immature when it comes to taking responsibility for her decisions, and I do understand why he gets so angry with her over things. She doesn't have a good track record of being honest with him AT THE TIME that she does something she knows he doesn't like. So yeah, unless she starts growing up, I can see them winding up divorced a few years from now.

Bratty teen or not, they need to stop coddling him and telling him that he needs to stop blaming Pedro. None of them really made him feel very welcome, and I can understand his not wanting to be around them. However, after hearing the translation of what his mom said about them? I can understand some of their hostility. Them all going to the Dominican Republic to meet her will be very interesting. And Chantel being annoyed that his mom just got a bigger/nicer apartment with the money he sends back home will be interesting to watch. I don't know what the Dominican Republic's currency is worth in contrast to our currency, but I'm sure our money stretches a long way into theirs and she probably hasn't taken that into account and doesn't realize that he probably isn't sending back as much as she now thinks he is. Also, it's his family. He wants them to be able to live better. Her parents live pretty well, so why would she resent (maybe not the best word to use, but that's how it's seeming at the moment) him wanting better for his family?

They should have dated longer and talked via Skype/letters/vacation visits before agreeing to get engaged to him and coming here to marry him. But she did, and now she should be standing by him.

It's a shame re: everything because with the exception of Danielle and Mohamed, and Jorge and Anfisa, I like the other people and I am hoping they can somehow work things out.

I don't think they are seeing her as having casual sex. She moved him into her apartment before they could have a say in it. At that point, they probably just wanted her to not fall in love with him. 

I don't know what the Dominican Republic's currency is worth in contrast to our currency, but I'm sure our money stretches a long way into theirs and she probably hasn't taken that into account and doesn't realize that he probably isn't sending back as much as she now thinks he is.

It's 20 cents to our dollar, but it may not stretch that far if the prices are high. 

Also, it's his family. He wants them to be able to live better. Her parents live pretty well, so why would she resent (maybe not the best word to use, but that's how it's seeming at the moment) him wanting better for his family?

Yeah, well, they all want the green card, and all of the people from here (and this goes for ANYONE seeking love from someone in another country) should know this, and think a bit harder before getting engaged so quickly. There is/was no reason that they couldn't have taken more time and continued visiting each other for a longer period, and found out for sure that yes, they do all love each other. It would have saved them all from a lot of the problems they're going through now.

As to whether or not they should/would tell someone whom they knew would blow up at them? Well, sorry, but if they married the person, they have to deal with the responsibilities of that. Sure, nobody likes being yelled at, but nobody likes being lied to or having things hidden from them either, especially not a spouse. She shouldn't have done what she did but she did it, and then she lied about it. She betrayed her best friend, and lied to her husband. She's very immature. She kind of deserves what she gets now. I don't have a lot of sympathy for her. Oh, and yes, I would be honest with my spouse regardless of their temper about things. Again, that's part of marriage. To not do so just makes everything worse when everything does come to light later. Not being honest is a very big part of why marriages fail. Because if you're not honest, how can you expect your spouse to trust you?

I do understand Chantel being upset that he's sending money home if he's not really contributing to his and her needs, and if that is what he's doing then yes, he needs to stop for a while and start helping out more at his current home first. Definitely no argument there.

Um, they could have told her to make him move out. They could have made a huge deal of that. They're her parents. They should have said something and she should then have listened to them or come clean about the situation at that point. Not doing so makes me question their parenting skills.

I'm not sure what to say in response to that (Russ, Paola, and Juan). But if that is how she was, and Russ either saw or didn't see that about her and married her anyway, then maybe he's like Jorge, and that's very sad.

I take it you didn't watch their first season. Well, Paola was a nicer version of Anfisa. She wanted fancy things, and she paraded in Russ' parents home in her lingerie, until he was able to find a home to suitable to her liking.

This season Paola appears to be less materialistic, but she was pinging gold digging, although a gold digger with a heart of gold.

Anyway, I am watching last night's episode now, and I think I'm seeing in Pao what you were talking about with her behavior and attitude. She really is selfish. She's telling him he needs to have her back, but she refuses to have his. That's just not right, and I'm proud of him for getting up and walking away. Juan claiming he "won?" Yeah, not. Russ "won," if there was anything to win because he took the high ground and didn't punch Juan in the face, but chose to walk away. Juan is just a disgusting person.
