I post this here because of the smart politcal posters . I have noticed at least 3 shows on network Tv that apears to be doing some politcal propaganda. Salvation - CBS, Timeless, Designated Survivor All 3 of these shows have a "Elon Musk" charcter and in all 3 they are non white. After Robert Downy gets to old to be Tony Stark we can have Cedric the entertainer play him. Comments..............

What a fine example of seeing thing as "we are," not as "they are."
Let's not forget that drugs like crack and heroin are also far more connected to violent crime, and that one big reason penalties for crack etc were increased was because black leaders wanted it that way, to help deal with crime in their communities. And aside from some notable exceptions - OJ Simpson for one - do you know who's hardest on black drug/violent offenders? Black jurors.

Unlike cocaine? Really? And many people affected by the opioid crisis are turning to heroin because it's cheaper to get than the legal prescription drugs their dealers-- I mean doctors got them hooked on.
And what about the crime connected to meth? As far as I know meth users haven't been jailed at nearly the same rates as those who did or sold crack during the 80s and 90s.
Are you seriously telling me that if black and hispanic communities were the primary victims in the current opioid epidemic that they wouldn't be portrayed by the media as violent junkies that need to be locked up? It would be the perfect excuse for cops to double down on shooting and arresting those people for being drug offenders.
What black leaders? Who are you talking about? Names? Quotes? Give me something to go on here.
Source?

Jefferson county, a county close to st. louis is considered one of the meth capitals in the country. Its population size is roughly the same as St. Louis city but the murder rate of the city is 10 to 1

So what if the star of Discovery is African-American? All of these people who are having hissy fits about Michael Burham being African-American and Michelle Yeoh's character being Malaysian sound like the people who had temper tantrums when President Obama was elected! Give it a rest, for crying out loud. If you don't like the racial makeup of Discovery's cast, then DON'T WATCH THE SHOW!

I think the argument isn't against black or Asian characters/actors per se, at least for those who make it honestly, but that - at least in their opinion - less-qualified black or Asian actors are portraying less-qualified black or Asian etc characters, just to make points in some kind of diversity contest.
For that matter, you'd think the blind minority-boosters would object to the lead character in the new show, played by a black actress, being the first and probably only mutineer in Starfleet history. It also makes me wonder about black people apparently being so proud of the first (half-)black president who was such a disappointment and failure.

I would agree with this. It does seem kind of screwed up that the first time they have a black female character in Star Trek, the first black main cast member since TOS in the 60s, she's an unlikeable screwup who plunges the Federation into war and advocates shooting first instead of trying to negotiate and make peace.
Also Michelle Yeoh was unceremoniously killed due largely to her incompetency and then was eaten. EATEN!
Stammets, the first out and gay character in Star Trek, starts off as a snide prick. Granted he gets better, but still, you'd think you'd want to put your best foot forward when touting how diverse your characters are.
The last 4 presidents were technically failures with the current one following the trend. Obama was a neo liberal corporatist, but he talked smarter than Bush and had better manners than 45 and at least got us out of the recession Bush put us in and gave some people better healthcare that saved their lives. Terrible Right Wing healthcare instead of a public option or single payer healthcare, but still something better than we had before. He did lots of bad things but you can point to a few good things he did.

So has Trump. Also "ending a recession" with what, something like 1.3% economic growth, isn't really ending a recession. Last I heard it's up over 3% now. THAT is a very good thing. Obama also took credit for things like lower energy prices especially oil/gasoline, which would not have happened if he'd had his way (he controlled/stopped oil drilling where he could, but much of the new oil drilling which has lowered costs is on private land where he couldn't stop it), and contrary to his statement to a newspaper editorial board early in 2008, that energy prices will "necessarily skyrocket" under his policies.
Also, Obama's ideas led to higher unemployment, lower household income, etc, among "his own people." Hence, a failure even to them, whether or not they realize it or admit it.

What is your obsession with race in all of your post? Is there ANY TV/Movie forums without shiat posters? People that are upset about Star Trek being PC, NEVER WATCHED Star Trek. Star Trek was the pioneers of PC.

Not really. Uhura and Sulu etc had their positions because of excellence, not quotas or affirmative action.

What the fark do that even have to do with a show THAT NEVER GAVE ONE FARK ABOUT RACE 52 YEARS AGO. This show has been about integration longer than most people on this site have been alive. I can't see why anyone would bring up race in a Star Trek board, unless they have never even seen it , or just trolling. Roddenberry never gave two shiats about race, gender, religion, or sexuality, since he cast, a Jew, A black female, and a openly gay Asian man in 1966.

If a white actor portrayed MLK you would be the first to scream about it.

Was Takei openly gay in 1966? Doesn't seem like it.

Meaning what? That Trump secretly wishes black unemployment wasn't the lowest it's been in... decades?
