Latest episode with Lowel's wife - was she real or not?

I kept expecting Lowel to have his wife come out at the end as his sister or something, mostly because their story about how they met up seemed so made up (of course the straw house was proven false).

Seems like she was actually his wife. The writers didn't really reveal much to say otherwise.

There's no reason to believe otherwise and I don't think they're going to touch on that again. There's no reason to
