Discuss 13 Reasons Why

Can you think of a better way to allow the audience to easily dfferentiate between the timelines?

Also, are there an other shows or movies that have used a similar device for the different timelines?

Well, in terms of injuries i cant remember a specific example but i'm sure this isnt the first. But lots of movies use methods like different color grading and even different filming techniques to show the change of time periods. The Grand Budapest for example used different aspect ratios to show change in time. Steve Jobs the movie used different filming techniques, such as 16mm film, 35mm film and then digital to show the 3 different ages.

I think the cut on his forehead was probably the best way to make it easily identifiable. And the color grading helps with the transition too.
