Discuss 13 Reasons Why

Hanna keeps asking if she can just have a dude thrown in jail without her ever facing him again, and the counselor keeps asking her if she did just gave consent and then regretted it. that last Episode was just garbage with the writing there, they both seem like dumbasses. and fuck the title too, it's not 13 reasons why she killed herself, if you notice all the tapes before number 12 was just Hanna getting bullied and having garbage friend who leave her. hell even in the new school year everyone seem to stop that shit and cheered when Hanna came to the new school year party. so you wanna know the one reason that made her kill herself, it was rape. rape made her kill herself, and it makes sense cause honestly till that point she even seemed fine. she would make a few friends, then get bullied and then her friends leave. then she makes other friends, then gets bullied and her friends leave, then gets welcomed by everyone, then gets raped and kills herself. they undermined their own fucking message though out the series. bullying wasn't ever gonna kill Hanna, but this whole series act like everyone was at fault for her death, when it's really just one guy.

and some of the guys are on the list for some really weak shit.

I think cuz after the rape happened she was thinking back on all the stuff that has happened to her and felt she had no one to talk to about it. When the rape happened, she didn't have anyone to talk to..she tried talking to the counselor which clearly didn't work out well... So she just gave up.

I mostly agree with OP. If the show's goal is to demonize bullying, it's definitely a weak attempt at it. The worst is that the only thing I get from it is : "Be conservative". If those kids only listened to their parent's boring advice such as "don't do drugs, don't drink, don't have sex, don't overshare", none of the bullshit would've happened. Another simple advice : "Don't go to a party hosted by someone you witnessed raping your friend a couple days ago".

I also agree that the message was "Care for each other" as pointed out in the last scene when the main protagonist reconnects with his old emo pal. Bullying wasn't only aggravating, it also deprived her of ways she could've been saved.

I think the rape was the final straw. But considering she had no friends left to talk to so the past events did add to the misery. Jessica for example was also raped but had the courage to speak about it.

It's important to remember some people are mentality weaker than others.

but she did have support, tony. and also she seemed very mentality strong, considering she was strong enough to go though retelling all her abuse on her own while recording them all on tapes and send them out to her abusers.

If I remember right Tony was a guy who was nice to her rather than a friend. I don't think recording her abuse showed mental strength, I saw this as a weakness considering you wasn't facing up to her issues but waiting to release them after she died.

but tony said that she would go to him all the time and just talk about her problems, thats more then being nice.
