I binged watched this show in about 2.5 days. So well done. I would love a season 2. The ending does work as a final ending, but at the same time, they have opened it up enough to where they can continue on with the show. A lot of people have talked about how they can't, because there is only one book, and the first season covered the entire book. That being said, there have been plenty of shows which have gone far beyond and/or strayed past their original source material. And also, it's as I was saying in that they have expanded certain storylines further to where the story could definitely continue. As to what path they will ultimately go down if there is indeed a season 2, I have no idea. This is where I get a bit conflicted on whether or not I actually want a season 2. I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters yet, but at the same time, I think the first season is so perfect just as is that I fear things would begin to get over the top and the story could ultimately be ruined in season 2. They need to be very careful with this if they continue on with another season.
I've got two episodes left. So far I've absolutely loved the series. The way they told the story was great. They did such an amazing job jumping around in time and keeping you wondering.
That being said, I have mixed feelings about a season 2. I can already tell I'm going to want more. But would Hannah be involved? I like the entire cast, but there is just something about Hannah. I would really miss seeing her from episode to episode.
I want a Season 2, but, as a reader of the book, the story is about Hannah and it doesn't make sense. Just finished it today, but I suppose I'll be fine with either option, whether they renew it or otherwise.
I'm not sure what season 2 would be about.. The hannah storyline is dead (no pun intended). However i would like to see what will happen to Alex as well as the consequences (if any) that happen to Bryce.
We never did find out what happened with the lawsuit. So i supposed there are some unanswered questions..however all those questions can probably be answered in one episode.

Maybe the answer is they should do a movie, as opposed to another season.

Maybe, if they do another season, they could still have Hannah but follow on a storyline that is interweaves through the past involving her and the present but does not involve the suicide plotline? I feel like whatever route they go in, it will risk the quality of the show.

You never know, but it does seem like it would be very very tough for them to top season 1. If they did a season 2 I'm sure they could involve Hannah in some way. I could see her appearing to Clay in visions or dreams. I could see them having conversations together about his life. I also could see them doing more Hannah flashbacks.
The author of the book approves. As long as it has a coherent plot structure without being too similar or too different than Season One, it could be amazing.
So I finally finished season 1. Overall, I thought the show was great. Definitely very effective. The writing and acting was top notch. Hannah's suicide was definitely hard to watch. I don't tend to have serious reactions to moments like that, but that scene really got me.
As for a season 2, I still have mixed feelings. Even though the show didn't end with a lot of definitive answers the ending still works really well. I don't think we need to know for sure how certain things played out. We can do that ourselves.
On the otherhand, I still kinda want more. If they do a season 2 I hope they have a real story to tell and don't just do it for the sake of doing it.
Ya i agree..it's gotta have a good storyline to keep us watching..i watched s1 in like 1.5 days I couldn't stop watching..mostly cuz I was patiently waiting till they got to clays tape..i honestly thought he was gunna be the last one.
