The episodes on the official website are obviously listed in absolute order to improve its layout, not to make a statement that these episodes aren't organized into seasons. It makes sense when designing a website to only put the absolute number, as including S1E15 or S2E5 on each box would cause clutter and be visually confusing.

This does not mean that season 2 does not exist, or that absolute order episodes 26-50 don't fall under it. These groups of episodes came out years apart and were marketed and presented as a second season. The BluRays and airing dates on the official website are listed as [2nd Season].

I'd like to mention Attack on Titan again, where every episode uses the absolute episode number on its title screen. You wouldn't say "oh, its impossible for absolute episode 26 to fall under season 2, as there can't be a S2E26 without a S2E1". You would obviously recognize that it is using absolute ordering in that instance for convenience, but that the episode is still S2E1.

Please change this system. The only thing it does is confuse people.

Have seen to many similar cases that animes which actually have multi seasons are merged to single seasons, just because they have continuous episode numbers. MODs (not sure what it MOD stands for, but seems to be something like an admin?) will throw their "guidelines", explain this dead "guidelines" on their way, using only what they would like to see, ignoring special situations, and also not willing to hear users voice. At this time, I have really learned what does "democracy" mean, thanks. BTW, is there anywhere we can complain this? It's really annoying...

Terrible, thoughtless decision that ignores and disrespects the very community this site stands upon.

To add insult to injury the source for the decision also lists seasons 1, 2, and 3 (seriously, it's one of the only things highlighted on the webpage).

Communities that serve as the foundation for sites like this deserve to have their voices heard and their opinions shown respect.

For the long term well-being of TMDB as a whole I sincerely hope this close minded decision (and others like it) are reversed.

This choice without any valid reason is really a big mistake. Huge loss of information, between the title of the season, the description, the posters, the wallpapers, the videos... The multiple "season finales" in a single season (even if it's the most logical thing here...)
