Ok, they are likely paid, but why would they do this? Is the money that good?

Also, why do they need volunteers to go into the prison, why don’t they just use the footage from the security cameras of the regular goings-on in there?

I don’t watch this show but I started getting these A&E recommendations on youtube so I was kind of morbidly fascinated at the concept for a bit.
