3 stars or less ( ten stars is the highest). Nice to know those posters have real intelligence when it comes this utter borefest! Reviews are their calling the guy playing the Captain a limited range actor.

The Towering Inferno film( nothing to do with this) at least made a great Mad magazine satire. This series was even dull as dry paint as a satire in that magazine. See my reviews.

Can't you people see anything!?! I counted the number of lousy reviews of four stars or less for this borefest. That was in eps one right after on IMDb. I came up with one hundred terrible reviews for just 13 eps. Utter dreck this show is!

Not sure what you are 'seeing' but as of today (4-26-25), the IMDB rating is 8.7

Star Trek;Insurrection got a super miserable way over 80 awful reviews at IMDb out of 567 review stotal Another TNG terrible. How deservedly so hated what you love is this dreck sequel non-saga!

When a show like this is lousy beyond dispute for one reason( unoriginal)-- it is lousy beyond dispute.

Realize all. The deserved hatred this imitation borefest inspires would make a great film documentary and would be so popular!

Here on TMDb, to date 1,592 site users have rated this series, collectively giving it an 84% rating.

On Wikipedia, under the series' "Reception" chapter, an array of significant accolades are listed, making evident it's all along been held in both critical and popular high regard:

I've never watched this series, so have no personal opinion about it.

Irregardless, Gen. Many reviews at IMDB are one star to like four star for it. This shows a lot of disdain. A movie on it being hated would be good! This is mostly they created Enterprise the series.

Furthermore, it is unworthy of defending in anyway, Gen. It is merely another post-1985 piece of dreck. And the actors on it are not your immediate family.

Gen, it works like this. If the series TNG had one bad review and otherwise all favorable reviews at IMDB that would not mean much. But it has a very considerable number of hated reviews. Some shows at IMDB have just a single bad review and otherwise all favorable ones. Not the case here.

It went like this. The many who hate it felt very overwhelmed by the scary and favorable reception it got. They almost felt like all resistance to it was futile. But it isn't. You can feel very negative towards this.

Gen, your statistics say more about the people who like this cold show than the masses that don't!

Gen, one last thing. An analogy. Are brunette women actually better looking on average than blonde women? No, of course not. Blonde hair looks fabulous on most ladies but every time a good looking lady with dark hair shows up it has an almost mind-numbing effect on people observing. She was not expected to look that good in that hair color so any goodness she has with it hits much, much harder than if a blonde lady shows up looking great. Now, to TNG. This show getting a very good reception despite coldness, being a sequel, and appalling lack of originality was mind-numbing ( there is the word) many Trekkies who hated it into dumbfounded silence. This is why it seems a bigger hit than the actually great, highly well-received original. original. And the way the show continued to be a smash for seven years really left a bad stamp on massive minds who loved the original. Your explanation. .
