Joe Caswell was pretty obviously outright fibbing to the scientist who brought him forward in time when the former said he killed a whole territory full of people. Why in Earth was this killer so very unknown to history if had he really murdered that many? When he is about to be hung his executioner wannabes do not state how many he killed. And the fact that only one man is there who has a personal vendetta against Caswell for murder shows Caswell's self-spoken murder figure was indeed inflated.
