Has anyone else seen this episode? It was made during season 4 when the episodes were expanded to one hour. It's about a colony of Americans who were stranded on this desert planet for 30 years and what happens when a Spaceship from Earth finally arrives to take them home.

I would've liked to also have seen the people landing on earth and discovering that it was devastated by war and pollution. And they would be enslaved and their children sent to fight in the war. So, Benteen was right and there's no happy ending for anyone.
Another possibility was that earth had been conquered by aliens, and when they landed, Sloane would reveal his true self.

No, Sloane was right and I really think that Earth was basically the same. Besides, after living on a desert planet for 30 years, I'm sure that Earth in any condition would seam like the Ritz-Carlton to them.
And Benteen wasn't right. Sure, he did a great job of keeping the colonists alive, but he was so used to being in charge that he couldn't handle the fact that he wouldn't be in charge anymore when they got back to Earth.

This was one of the episodes Lew Gallo, who played Major Joe Cobb in the first season of Twelve O'Clock High appeared in.

I've watched this episode at least 6 times in the past year. James Whitmore did such a good job as Benteen! His reactions to Sloan's efforts slowly built up from surprise to irritation to anger in a subtle way.

It’s actually been over 25 years since I saw it
The one hour episodes are the episodes I’ve seen the least of. But this one is memorable

All in all, I liked the half hour episodes better. But season four had some good ones.

Yeah I also remember the one with the owner of the company gets to go back in time and rebuild his company all over again and then he was the one that ended up being the garbage man who got the gold watch and the guy he was ridiculing is the owner of the company

I can't quite remember the name of the episode, but I remember that the demon that appeared to the man was the was Julie Newsome . I also remember that the old man brought some items he planned, but it ended well (for the janitor, at least).
