It was a wonderful feeling seeing an episode of TZ that I had never seen before. That happened to me during this marathon with "The Encounter". Do you feel its being left off the air for so long was justified? For those who may have seen it during the original broadcast, was it very controversial then? I like a show that can get people talking about sensitive topics and this was one of those episodes.

I've been watching this show since the 70's and it was very exciting to see an episode that I had never seen before.
Leaving it off the air was certainly not justified imo.

This is the one with George Tekei, right?:)
I do wonder if the person(s) who cast Star Trek liked the Twilight Zone performances of Tekei Doohan Nimoy and Shatner :)

Is it on Netflix or Hulu? I don't think I have seen this episode myself.

wow, its amazing to me to hear how you people have never seen this episode before and how much its apart from the rest of the series, for someone like me who started watching twilight zone a few years ago on dvd boxes and just think of it as one of the regulars, i had no idea that episode didn't air on television until last year or so when i read it on wikipedia, was quite surprised by it, and sad to think the audience missed out on that episode, which is really one of my favorites, i just love the atmosphere and the intense acting. i watched it so many times, then was thrilled to discover it as a new version on twilight zone radio with longer running time, added bits, one of the few episodes starring the host, as the war veteran, which i understand was the real case with the original actor.
in the field at mornin sunrise, as the rooster called madeleine brought glory times, she steamed till i got weak in the legs, and i rested in the shade, she had gone felt lonesome as sun went down in eve, when through flowers lucy came walkin in the field.
