I'm disappointed in Snyder. It really seemed like he understood their situation, but apparently self-preservation overrides all.

i don't think it will end well for him. the internal affairs guy told him he would never have to worry about anything again, that sounded ominous to me.

Yeah, I had that thought too. The guy from the authority was rather nonspecific. Saying you'll never have to worry about anything again - that could be interpreted several ways.

Definitely. When Snyder asked the blackjack, or whatever he was 'what will I get if I find the gauntlet' and the answer was "polka dots and moonbeams for the rest of your life", he knew he was in trouble. He tried, he has to. He's Snyder. But he's not so stupid that he didn't realize they would get the gauntlet and he'd get ugatz. What really happened in the SUV at the end? And couldn't he have pulled his Snyder nonsense much earlier, like at the checkpoint? Wouldn't that have made more sense? Why wait? I am not sure all is as it seems.

I suppose it's possible that was something high officials used to de-select themselves. In other words, rap drones and ships that might target other vehicles outside the colony would leave them alone. Of course, that begs the question of why he'd activate it secretly and make sure no one saw him, if the effect was indeed beneficial to the whole group.

I could go off all night on what ifs for this. But, do you remember when he spoke to Helena G. in her office , "Oh you mean there is a moderate host faction?" Does he know more than he lets on? Was he ever in contact with a moderate faction? Is that who his secretive act contacted? Snyder does what's good for Snyder, we know that. Maybe this is a better move than we thought.
