Danny Rand is suppose to be one of the world's greatest hand-to-hand combatants as The Iron Fist. (Arguably 2nd to only Shang-Chi). But this show portrayed him as a amateur-looking idiot. The least Netflix could've done was get someone with a martial arts background to play this role. Finn Jones was horrible. His lack of skill combined with horrible choreography made the show unenjoyable. At times, he had trouble taking down single untrained thugs, and even Meachum was able to take him out for the count temporarily.
The story was decent at first. As it went on, Danny seemed to get dumber and dumber. I'll give him some slack because he grew up isolated from society, but by the last few episodes I was just wanting it to end. I hope between now and the inception of The Defenders, this dude pulls a can of assertiveness out of his ssA.
A few things:
Claire just seems to be in the way at times. Why even take her to China.
Not sure why Joy all of a sudden is open to kill Danny? (what did I miss)
I like Madame Gao, but I'd like to see someone jack her up.
I love Carrie-Anne Moss as Hogarth. She's so direct and serious. (Kinda hot in the black).
Not sure why I ended up liking Ward. I just did.
Why no Cage cameo. C'mon, they were Power Man/Iron Fist! IMO, that was a missed opportunity.

Totally agree. Well, maybe not totally. There were moments in a few fights that were very good but they were never Danny. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Drunken Monkey style fight. I will add the halfassed attention to detail in choreography like when some thug gets his throat slit, he waves his arms around instead of grabbing at his assailant's arms and things like Wing's seemingly slow motion fighting.

IMO, it was the only well-done fight sequence. I heard Lewis Tan (The Drunken Monkey) was a fan favorite to play the role of Danny Rand. I have no issue with the trend of changing ethnicity in these comic roles, but I was against this one because I felt Danny Rand being caucasian was relevant to the overall story. Upon watching Finn in the role, I really wish they had given into Tan. He would've been great.

I agree they missed an opportunity to cross the shows either with Luke Cage or DareDevil. It would have been cool if DareDevil showed up out of no where's to help Danny in one of the fight scenes. I guess Claire is the only thing that ties them all together. How are they all gonna meet and form a team in 8 episodes? They could have set some of that up by having some cameos or at least an after credit scene or two.....
