Jessica jones was so boring, I never once was interested in the characters. Luke cage was a little more exciting but I found myself bored while watching it too. Haven't seen iron fist yet, but the early reviews don't look good. I used to be excited for the defenders, but now I wish they didn't even make any of this and only stuck to daredevil. I would much rather have daredevil season 3 then defenders season 1 right now. I think marvel may have made a mistake making the other shows. Just my opinion.

I'm sure it will be the hand and she will be some kind of intellectual crime boss similar to the Kingpin. I seriously doubt Marvel would allow Mephisto to be screwed up for the second time. The version of him in the first Ghost Rider movie was awful.
They need to save Mephisto for future Marvel movies or do him justice in a Ghost Rider TV series.

Unless she is a controlled priestess of Mephisto. Perhaps a network of devil-worship types.

I know I'm in the minority, but I thought Daredevil and Iron Fist were ok and liked Jessica Jones and Luke Cage better. I will say Daredevil was better than Iron Fist though. I think my issue with Daredevil first season was Kingpin owning everybody making it hard to take him down. I kind of got bored with that plot line. Even in season two, with Kingpin in prison, it still felt like he was still in control. Speaking of Daredevil season two, I did like that better than season one.
Iron fist had its flaws, but I don't hate it like a lot of people seem to. I look foward to Defenders with all of them together. This is coming from someone who has never read any of the comic books.

That's why he's the Kingpin. I'm also looking for to Defenders.

Iron Fist was so bad that his inclusion in Defenders might outweigh the quality of the other three characters. I am super apprehensive about Defenders.
I collected Defenders comic from the low 40s issues till the end around 125 or so. The reboots never compared. The "non-team" approach was always cool if not often overlooked. It was supposed to be sorta like the team of heroes that find themselves together with common purpose are The Defenders. That makes this lineup fine in the Defenders tradition.
The launch of the title had Hulk, Dr Strange, and Namor with Silver Surfer along soon. Not very good but that's the odd mix flavor that made it cool. Later, the team was more like Avengers lite with the lineup I liked the most: Nighthawk, Valkyrie, Hell Cat, Son of Satan, Clea, and Jack of Hearts.
So it's not too late to kick Iron Fist out of the Defenders and put Punisher in there instead. Anything goes.

I am now for this very reason, but not because I was a Defenders fan (original comics lineup).
Or, use the Iron Fist we saw in the grainy footage. Figure out a way to get rid of Danny Rand, figure out a way to bring in that Iron Fist and explain why he hasn't aged, voila. Oh and never let the showrunner of Iron Fist Season 1 touch the property every again.
From my research the 1940s' Iron Fist was called Orson Randall.
