We are going as per the original Hallmark Channel broadcast in 8 episodes listed here.
Unfortunately, on DVD, they have recut these 8 episodes to form 10 episodes.

That makes sense. Is it possible to make an episode group for DVD that would show these split episodes?

No, an episode group can only be used to reorder episodes. It can't be used to split episodes.
