I am LOVING the show since it came back. And last night's episode did NOT disappoint. My TV changed the channel before the promo for the next episode ended (I saw right up to the red ring box). And this morning I was reading a local paper about BG's next project here in Chicago, and it mentioned that Empire aired it's season finale. Is the next episode the season finale? Just seems a little weird considering it's FOX's highest rated program and it won't be on at all for May sweeps.

Well @LadyJEsq good to see your post. Well, I sort of gave up posting here for a while when people didn't show up on here because I found another discussion site that was more active.

Last night's episode was excellent but the one before that "Strange Bedfellows," I really didn't like. The ratings have finally stopped dropping and have ticked up a bit so that's quite a big relief. Everything from Cookie's dressing to Andre's big moment etc. was so well done and I was very impressed.

I think Empire still has about 5 more episodes to go since we just saw E13. There are 18 episodes this season so we still have a few more weeks left. There is NO WAY, Fox will leave Empire out of the May sweeps so that is a given that it will run through that period. It will not air next week April 19th since it is Easter week or so and it will return the week after and air till the end.

I totally understand why you left this board. While I prefer this site to others, I'm disappointed that most of the shows I want to have discussions about, have in-active boards. I meant to come back to this board after I got all caught up, but that didn't happen until right before the premiere. I did come briefly the next day, but there were few posts here, so it didn't quite keep my attention. I'm glad you found another site that's more active. Let me know which one it is because I would love to talk Empire AND Shots Fired. Have you watched that? I LOVE LOVE LOVE that show. Wednesday has become my favorite night for viewing because of these two shows.

Anyway, back to Empire. I was disappointed in the prior episode too. But last night had my going DAMNNNNNN so much! I could go on here about the few things I wanted to talk about, but I guess I could make separate threads. Maybe that'll get the board popping. Great to hear about the ratings. I've only paid attention to the coveted 18-49 live plus 7day, which is pretty high, IIRC, it's as high as 3, so I assumed the show was pretty safe.

Glad to hear there are more episodes. I really don't understand how the article could be soooooooooo off. Anywhoo, I'll post that as an OT thread for those interested.

Thanks for the promo link! I was disappointed that my TV changed channel, but knew if I changed it back it would be over because it was so close to the end.

I definitely like this season better than last season.

I like Andre stepping up and essentially becoming his father. I was tired of his whining in the previous seasons. I'm not really big on Nessa though, her character just has never grown on me. I wish they hadn't killed off Rhonda because I would have liked to see what part she would play with the Andre now.

Hakeem and Tiana are not doing it for me. I just don't see why they are even together. I liked when they were just friends last season, but them being "in love" or whatever they are doing isn't working for me. I feel like Hakeem has reverted back to season 1 Hakeem even though I think he's slowly changes his ways. I personally miss Laura, I thought she would have been good for him long term, but they kinda forgot about her.

I am looking forward to the Luscious, Cookie, and Guliana storyline. As for Cookie and Angelo, I like that it's something different and she seems to be falling for him, even though it probably won't last. I just want Luscious to have a real threat for Cookie's affections.

As for Shine, I really don't think he should be back next season, he was cool as a one season character but I don't see anything for him past this season.

Anneka needs to be gone after this season too. She was fine as the foil of Cookie in season 1, but she's overstayed her welcome. They made Anneka crazy in season 2 and it was clear the writers didn't know what to do with her and it's more clear they don't know what to do with her this season. This season I think it's forced that she had to marry Luscious because she supposedly knows things. In season one, I didn't get the impression that Luscious told Anneka a lot about his illegal dealings, Cookie, yes, but Anneka, not so much. On top of that, she's been acting like Cookie by breaking stuff and threatening to kill Luscious just to get her way. I was actually hoping that it would be Anneka rather than Rhonda who got killed in the beginning of the season.

I look forward to the rest of the season.

I haven't watched 'Shots Fired' yet but I DVR'd the 1st 2 episodes and I'm yet to catch up. I also have '24' on DVR which I'm yet to catch up. Just too much going on but the only show I am dedicated to watching live now is only 'Empire'. I really should watch SF because I have heard great things about the show.

The site I found is not that active but was the best in terms of discussion. Most of the other sites were more or less making one or two sentence comments more or less like tweeting but no in-depth discussion. This site just has a few good comments but not that many. Andre OWNED this episode hands down. The writers wrote the heck out of his character this episode I was amazed. I was so glad his knowledge and skills were put to good use. I have never seen Lucious so defeated. The bedroom board meeting was epic! I miss Rhonda too but Andre's character is going through some major transformation I just don't think would have happened with Rhonda around. He has become tougher and more in control because we have to agree that Rhonda literally took care of him most of the time.

Hi again Nchi. I wonder why I didn't get a notification that you'd responded to my posts. If I hadn't checked both Shots Fired and Empire, per my usual, I wouldn't have known you'd responded. I posted my first thread two weeks ago, as a test, and I see you're the only one to have responded. I'll post the other two threads I had in mind, but I'm losing hope for both these boards. I've checked out the other forum you provided, and it's seems to be a bit jazzy to me. Either that, or I'm too tired (and I'm getting a weather headache) right now to figure it out. Thank you very much for sharing though. I'll check it out tomorrow when things are a bit clearer. If I were a tread starter, I would just continuing posting here and start on SF, but I'm not. In the just over 10yrs posting on IMDb, I started only a handful of threads out of thousands of posts. Probably because I'm not busy (and a bit lazy) to type these long posts, I'd rather wait for someone else to type it all out so I can simply agree! Like 80% of my posts on IMDb were exactly that.

They didn't notify me of your response either but I just check every once in a while anyway especially after an episode airs because I know people will like to discuss it. Looks like people are not coming over to discuss on this board and I just don't like to make posts without people chiming in to discuss. The other site I gave you (Previously TV) has a few posts on there now at least with people's point of view about last night's episode which BTW was excellent. I'll start posts until the end of the season and see how things go after that.

I really hope this board (site) picks up. Of all the ones I have seen, I like this layout the best. I'll do my part by visiting more often (since I can't rely on the notifications). This week's episode was excellent. Things are really heating up!
