Me too but I hate having to wait. I couldn't watch the mid-season finale, so at least I won't have a long wait from seeing what ever happened in the finale. I think I'll watch it the night before.
Happy to see you here LadyJEsq I started this post a while back after checking up on all the other sites proposed and this seemed to be the easiest to navigate. I was also hoping other IMDB refugees would join me here.
The midseason finale of Empire was extremely good and really left most fans excited and anxious for what's to come. The current previews also indicate that the second half will be very interesting. I can't wait. So much to discuss.
Hi Nchi9 I was hoping to see more IMDb posters here, but glad you're one of the ones to migrate here. I don't recall if we ever conversed, but I thought you wrote some really great posts, even ones that I may not have agreed with, I still enjoyed reading. I too feel this board was the better out of the ones proposed. I wish I had done a blitz on all the boards I frequented to propose this site. Unfortunately for me, the old adage, "out of sight, out of mind" really applies to me. I don't generally visit boards when a shows not on, even a short hiatus like what Empire is on.
Oh well, maybe I'll go to some of the other boards and see if I can't poach some of the regulars. Until then, I'm sure we can get this board popping!
Hi! Cece, welcome to the board
I'm sure a lot of people are still surfing around trying to find a good place to land but this was the only place I could easily navigate. Some of the other sites that were proposed don't even have an Empire board and the ones that did just were not easy to navigate for me . I hope the regulars that I know find their way here.
Things will really pick up when the show comes back on air again but we need to get it going, I agree
Hi! LadyJ, thanks for the shout-out. I know I made some intense posts on the Scandal board, but boy! I got carried away by disappointment, watching the great Olivia Pope being slowly but surely reduced to nothing. I finally gave up and moved on. Still visited the board only for OT discussions. Fortunately Empire came along and I am loving it. I try not to get carried away by shows anymore because it seems like most shows now tend to thrive on angering their fans by killing off or destroying major characters. I just enjoy whatever I can now and learn to move on.
Let's keep this place going!!!
Hi Nchi9, while I didn't agree with you then about the portrayal of OP, I now see what you guys were all up in arms about. I guess I was too into the "drama" that I didn't really notice the degradation of her character until last season, when the interesting "drama" dropped off significantly (although since her kidnapping I've been really disappointed in the show). I think it's funny that although I didn't mention which board I read your "intense" post on, you knew which one I was talking about. I remember when I first saw a post by you on the Empire board, I was initially taken aback because I completely agreed with everything you were saying in regards to the show and the intensity of the post was much more positive. But I TOTALLY understand how certain shows just get under your skin. I'm a loyal TV viewer, so I tend to stay with a show even when it's completely gone off the rails (hence why I'm still watching Scandal), but maybe one day I too will learn to move on. It's just not healthy.
And I think there's some credence to your comment that shows thrive on angering their fans. I'm beginning to see a pattern that just makes that statement hard to deny.

Where else would I have written passionate posts? Scandal was the first show that made me discover IMDB boards. I was so mesmerized by the awesomeness of the brilliant idea of a DC fixer. No other show had come up with that idea and Olivia Pope soon enough became my favorite TV character. I was more drawn to her work fixing problems than her affair with Fitz and I somehow knew that if not careful, that could destroy her. So when things came to a head, I was hoping for the better but I have some writing experience and I could clearly see where things were going early on. I just allowed myself to get too much into the show and I hope I never do that again. I should know that from experience.
Anyhow, Empire has brought me life and I love, love, love Cookie and Lucious. I can watch Empire re-runs all day and never tire of it. S2 was a little bit of a let down but it's still OK to watch. S3 is getting really good and I can see that the writers are betting back to substance and not fluff
