I think they were both strong in their own way. They chose how to survive this ordeal. He said Alice was good at first but I think after Sophia got sick she realized she could die here that it was up to her do what she could to get out. Sophia had Lucy Adam threatened her. She stayed and did everything he wanted to protect her daughter.

Interesting, thank you. Now, here's where I'm confused. I thought the little girl's name was Lucy, so what was the third girl's name? And wasn't it the real Sophie in the end who returned to her father but didn't want to see him? I thought the girl who died in the shed was the real third girl who got sick, but Gertz just called her Sophie. Like how she was supposed to make everyone believe she was Alice. I thought they all (with the exception of Alice because she fought too much so got locked in the closet all the time) traded places and accepted each other's names as their own when it suited them? It got really confusing trying to follow everything.

I can't remember the third girls name but yes that was her in the shed that was burned. He had Sophia pretend to be Alice so she could get medical attention. That was Sophia who didn't want to see her father. I don't believe they explained why. My theory is that Adam convinced Sophia her parents didn't want her to keep her under control. After Sophia who was pretending to be Alice was taken care of medically they faked the death so no one would look for her. She went along with this plan because of her daughter Lucy.

Thank you. Apparently I missed that part because I thought it was the third girl who was so sick, and that's how she was "returned" to her family and then died in the shed. I was unaware that the real Sophie also left him even if only temporary. So, I've been confused by how Sophie could still be alive and living with Adam.

I think they made it way too confusing this time around. It was very difficult to try and keep up.

Your welcome. I guess the show can be confusing to some with the back and forth in time line but I like that. I think it's the best show on tv. Hope they do a 3rd season.

I think the third girl was called Lena - but how they got her into the shed with nobody noticing was a bit silly. I also disliked the deliberate misdirection when Sophia asked Captain Stone how he could live with what he did. What did he do except save her life and her lovers? I think that Sophie had such strong features - big eyes - big nose - big mouth - no parent would mistake her for their own daughter no matter how much they wanted her back. I like the show but it does go on for too long and is very confusing with all the time shifts. I think they should have killed the Adler twins rather than the husband - that was a bit depressing! I think Sophie was just as much to blame as Gertz - I think she was madly in love with him and went along with him very willingly. I don't think it was Stockholm Syndrome at all. She didn't want to go home. They should have prosecuted her along with Gertz.
