We will just have to wait and see if that happens. There have been theatrical and TV movies and at least one "Twilight Zone"-like tale where a digital apocalypse occurs when people withdraw behind their computer screens and use surrogates to deal with the Real World. In the "TZ"-like tale, every person (save one) is connected to a Wikipedia/Google!-like database which provides instant access to anything, but that has led to widespread illiteracy. The Throwback kid ends up holding writing/spelling classes for his "unlettered" friends so they can communicate after the database is fatally corupted.
