Gawd... this week's bottle episode on Fargo may be the best yet. And it takes place in LA. This episode stands out as one of the best noir-tinged tv episodes. Up there with Rockford Files "Slight of Hand." The show is surpassing the movie it's based on.

It was a really great episode. Definitely the best episode of this season so far.

One of the best of the entire series, IMO.

I agree! I noticed that I believe ewan mcgreggor and david thewlis voiced characters in the animated segments:)

I'm afraid that the sad little cartoon "I can help!" is analogous to Gloria Burgle and her efforts at police work that don't quite fit in with up to date methods and technologies. It might mean she dies at the end and only then does she somehow reveal the secrets to what has been going on in town. Hope not, but I'm just guessing.

I gotta get me one of those boxes with the hand that emerges and turns off the switch. I know I've seen one somewhere....

It wasn't that special. Just because it happens to be on TV now doesn't make it better than the rest of the world. Just your typical cool episode, but nothing more.

I'm beginning to think you're right. We've been redirected away from what was plainly in our face at the first episode with a cartoon and then listening to Peter and the Wolf, trying to figure out who is which character. In the last ep,The House of Special Purpose, Emmit's car pulled right up on Varga, but nothing happened. Does it make sense for Varga to make himself that vulnerable? Did anybody else think that Varga looked like a regular schlump, just like Emmit behind the wheel? Then Varga is genuinely pleasant and talks about how the pork chop dinner was so nice. Not what we're used to with Varga. Or is he only nasty in front of the other two. Oh, and then he tells Emmit something to the effect of "look out for (you know who)"?! I thought Varga was the guy to look out for.
