Kim surprisingly took Chuck's death really hard whereas Jimmy was nonchalant about his Brother Death, I also think that she is starting to get fed up with the Law profession, I think they are building up her eventual departure, which may occur next season. I think this season they are building up Gus and Hector to fit into their roles from BB.

I'm not sure that Kim's recent tears and angry reactions are because she's taking his death hard. I took it that she despises Chuck for how he treated Jimmy (thus her outburst at Howard a couple of episodes ago). My suspicion for the tears at the end of the most recent episode was that she re-wrote the letter to Jimmy from Chuck and that the original letter was scathing. I think she's also noticing Jimmy's change in behavior and is worried sick about him. I could be wrong, though. The writers are doing a good job of making us wonder right now.

I think it's a good theory that Kim rewrote the letter. And that could possibly lead to her leaving Jimmy. Right now, Jimmy does indeed seem very nonchalant about Chuck's death. I also think Kim may figure out that Jimmy stole that figurine and, thus, is up to his old tricks.
I just don't think there is any way Chuck would have left a loving letter like that.

I came here to ask why Kim was crying--pretty sure it was not for Chuck. Also, pretty sure it was for Jimmy--just don't know why.

Yea agree, it's not for Chuck those tears. Her 'world' is crumbling around her and we all know that she's not a character at all in Break Bad so it's easy to surmise her time with BCS is coming to an end very soon. By her choice or forced. Could she by chance get caught up in the side story of BB? I doubt but these writers are doing an awesome job of filling in or leading up to how Gus's operation develops into his powerhouse meth distribution via Madrigal et al...I'm more excited about seeing how that all is being developed vs Jimmy's transformation to Saul.

Why was she crying then? The letter DID seem pretty generic with little to no details of their relationship. Also, if she did write it, there would be an easter egg somewhere. I don't think they would not let the audience in on it if she did write a bogus letter.
On the other hand, the letter seemed painfully boilerplate, which could be her reason for crying and Jimmies reason for acting like he was unmoved by it.

Here is another theory I found floating around about the letter...
"Another possibility is that Kim did read the letter before giving it to Jimmy, but what Jimmy read to Kim was not the letter that Chuck wrote. She’s upset because she knows that Jimmy is making up the letter."
I think I like this theory better than the Kim-rewrote-letter one. After all, Kim wasn't privy to Chuck and Jimmy's mom-loved-you-better conversation. And unless Jimmy told her about it (which I doubt) she wouldn't have known it to include it in the letter.
Also, it would explain why Kim was crying for Jimmy.
