I'm currently doing a re-watch of BB, and I've noticed, that at least for me; I prefer Better Caul Saul. For me BB has too many slow or boring parts. Anything with Banake, Hank's rock collection, or Marie's shoplifting totally derails the plot and excitement.
I can only think of one scene in BCS that was as boring as that, and it was season 2's episode where Kim was calling business contacts for 20 minutes.

I am with you on that BCS is better than BB. But in my case, I got to BB after S1 of BCS. I watched BB on DvD and not during its runtime.
I don't agree with your reasoning because S3 of BCS has lots of 'boring' parts which do not move the show forward either. I like slow moving dramas and therfore fine with BCS.
One thing I would say is that that the final season of BB was really underwheming for me but I think it is just me.

I agree that the final season of BB was not its best and felt anticlimactic, but really, how were they going to top the previous season?

Better Call Saul is a good show, but better than Breaking Bad? No way.
I don't think I'd describe either show as boring either. I think that's disrespectful and lazy criticism.

I don't know about it being better but I LOVE Better Call Saul(BCS) while I liked Breaking Bad(BB). BB was a great great show but perhaps BCS is more to my serine/slow moving taste. Both shows are super.

Regarding final season of BB, I am 100% with you on that one. I thought it was extremely underwhelming. I would have preferred it if they stopped at the cliffhanger of S4. Like you, I watched BB only last year after S1 of BCS. On the other hand, I am not sure what else could they have done differently in S5 of BB.

Ozymandias is one of the best episodes in tv history, so I completely disagree.

Agree totally Michelle. I love BCS and I don't find any bits boring. But then I like slow dramas with words (or no words but silences). The writing has been superb on BCS. Perhaps, because I came to BCS first before BB that I can't find any faults with it. I love the relationship between the brothers.
Now, to bring the level of this discussion down quite considerably, I am in love with Rhea Seehorn and am dredding when she lives Jimmy and he is all alone. I could watch the show just to hear her voice - wow - so sexy. Sorry about that.

BCS does silent pauses well. I could even watch Jimmy or Mike making toast and find that interesting.

I don't think that BCS is better than Breaking Bad, but I do think that it is getting better and better as it approaches the time of Breaking Bad. I love seeing characters from Breaking Bad introduced onto this show. I've never gotten so giddy about seeing cartel thugs!

I don't think BCS is better or worse. It is different, because you already know many of the characters. Yes they are developing, but they had developed on BB as well. BCS does answer some questions that you we may have never even thought of. I actually like BCS when Jimmy was helping the women at the Senior facility. I would have liked to see that play out until the end. Now it seems like it is dragging, because you are waiting to see what happens..During BB, I enjoyed WW transitioning from a good guy to the bad guy. And the comic relief from Jesse (Aaron Paul) helped a lot
