Discussão Better Call Saul

I have to say that I no longer like Chuck. If Chuck hadn't been such a greedy asshole by trying to take Mesa Verde from Kim, then this thing with Jimmy would never have happened. I think what Chuck is doing to Jimmy is just a vendetta that started when their mother died.

Right before their mother was dying, she asked for Jimmy instead of Chuck. Obviously their mom was delirious. I don't think she was conscious of what she was doing. Obviously she didn't see Chuck sitting there at all. That doesn't mean their mom loved Jimmy more. It doesn't MEAN anything. So I think that this rivalry Chuck has for Jimmy is completely rooted in Chuck being self consciousness and insecure. Either way Chuck trying to have Jimmy disbarred is a complete dick move. How could he do that to someone who's taken care of him? But I suppose that Chuck considered Jimmy taking care of him as an act of superiority over his brother.

I love all the Moral Heroes on here. What would you guys have done if you were Jimmy/Saul? Plead guilty to Federal Offenses and done 25 years in prison? Narc on the Cartel and face hitmen? He's not a bad guy and he made some tough choices.

Well sorry but I wasn't born addicted to conning and victimizing myself like Jimmy. What one should do? Not get into that position in the first place.

Introspection is very important and Jimmy apparently is incapable of that.

He didn't set out to get in the craziness that was the end result. C'mon now.

Oh yeah. He's a total heel. Even though Jimmy is kinda sketchy with his legal ethics or whatever, he still is a better human being IMO.

@MrRadical said: That would've held water, if only Jimmy didn't get that senior partner position at Davis & Main and guess whar? Chuck was right 100% and Jimmy screwed up everything again while embarassing both himself and Clifford Main who as we've seen is a good man who didn't deserve that one bit.

So you just don't recommend your brother to anyone in the business if they ask for your opinion. You don't go trying to get them booted out of the industry altogether and you certainly don't go punishing them through other people (i.e. Kim being tossed into the mailroom).

Seriously man, the mental gymnastics you and others are pulling in order to defend Slippin' Jimmy are downright eyerolling-worthy.

Well, that's a little rude and sanctimonious of you. I don't see any mental gymnastics here at all. Humans are complex creatures.

Jimmy was a schemer and scammer since he was a kid but when he finally realised he could do something better with his life, and offered to help others who were being scammed (i.e. the nursing home situation), he was constantly being shut down. I'm not justifying the measures he took while employed by Davis & Main, etc, to push his agenda but when you take into consideration what he was trying to achieve, you can't fold your arms and say he was purely malicious every step of the way. He meant well, he acted poorly. His brother would've been well within his rights to shun Jimmy from HHM and D&M but to have him disbarred, I disagree. It's no different to pulling hard on a dog's leash. The harder you pull, the more the dog resists.

But more importantly, this is a display of Chuck's resentment for his brother from long before Jimmy's exploits as a lawyer. Chuck didn't even want Jimmy near their dying mother, let alone near a courtroom. That is where I lost any shred of respect I had left for Chuck.

Clearly, the fictitious bar disagreed as well, after seeing Chuck's true motivation behind launching the inquest. It was a reasonable outcome and quite frankly, I look forward to what happens to Chuck next.

Feel free to keep rolling your eyes now. Might strengthen them up a little and help you see the much bigger picture here.
