wow he's so patient! I kinda forgot about the DON'T note from season 2 but just watching him work, very calm and not much dialogue was interesting.

I couldn't figure out why Mike was searching his car until I saw him take apart that gas cap.

I went back and rewatched all the episodes of Breaking Bad that Mike was in. He's so great.

Right away, I thought he was looking for a tracking device (the writers liked them in BB), because he thought that was how Gus, (or his lackey) followed him to his stakeout in the desert. I thought he just wanted to get rid of it, though, at first. What I didn't see coming was him switching it out with his own tracker so he could trace the rat back to the source of the original tracker...perhaps at Hermanos Pollos?

I wasn't surprised that he did that part. I thought it was bad ass that he did though. It's like, they were tracking him and now he's tracking them. We know Mike isn't the one to kill Hector Salamada though. I dunno who he's gonna kill. Maybe somehow this will lead Mike to Gus?

I'm guessing the tracker will take him to Gus, who will have to respect Mike's intelligence in switching the surveillance. That, and their mutual dislike of the Salamancas, will lead Gus to suggest Mike become his operative.

lol While it was obvious he was looking for a tracking device, Mike doesn't even know Gus exists at this point. But how clever of you.

I freaking loved the layout of this episode. I was a little lost because I forgot about the don't note last season too. The whole episode I was like what is this old man up to? The thought crossed my mind that he was really just trying to understand gps. I mean it does take place in the early 2000's. It really didn't fully come together until the last few minutes. How the writers came up with such a devious move is beyond me. Bravo

Thanks for the "clever" compliment, somewhat undeserved, as I definitely didn't state it cleverly. You're right, Mike wouldn't have known about Gus at that point, and I didn't mean to imply Mike knew he'd be guided to him by the switched tracker. He was betting on it taking him to "whoever" tracked him and nixed the hit. It's my guess the new tracker will take him to the restaurant where he and Gus will become acquainted. Gus will respect Mike's cunning, and they'll begin their alliance against Hector.

I don't know if I am at all excited about seeing Gus. He was never one of my favorite characters in Breaking Bad. Hopefully, the scenes with Mike and Gus will mainly be from Mike's perspective - which it should be, but I don't want too much backstory about Gus. I just wanna see how Mike relates to Gus on a level which wasn't shown in Breaking Bad.
