Great show, too bad it was only one season.

I recently got really into this show as I was role playing on Twitter with someone playing Grayson. I do like this take on the famous vampire and it was all about him fitting into society without all the regular bloodshed. I do enjoyed that you got to know the characters more. To see him work along Van Helsing for most of the season instead of them being enemies was a nice change.
It's a shame that it only lasted one season, the last episode opening up a bunch of opportunities for it to continue. I'm guessing it was a ratings issue that caused it not to continue.

I liked this show a lot, mainly because of Meyers. It is a shame it couldn't have had a couple of more seasons. But it's not surprising that NBC didn't renew it, different isn't in NBC/Comcast's wheelhouse! But it's also a shame that another network didn't pick it up!

I do agree that NBC is very into certain genres of shows, and to not seem boring will add something different just to freshen things up. The sad thing is that most of the time they have no intention of continuing these filler shows past the first season. A current example would be the show The Inbetween. This show had a supernatural element to it and was an enjoyable series, but alas was cancelled after one season.
This network would do much better if it stopped focusing on the old routine and bring new life to itself.
