Discuss PAW Patrol

In the case of these Paw Patrol seasons, it sure seems like using the production codes for the ordering would be a lot easier, but I get it, original air date is the truth here on The Movie Database... Using air dates though, I really think the boundary of when Season 2 ends and when Season 3 starts has been influenced by production codes, and is not holding true to the policy that the original air date is the truth.

  • Season 2 Episode 41 - Pups Save the Pop-Up Penguins aired on 5/29/2015
  • Season 2 Episode 42 - Pups Save a Pizza aired on 8/24/2015
  • There's a 3 month gap here, at the same time of year there was a gap between season 1 and season 2 (May to August), so why did season 2 span this 3 month summer gap and why was the August episode not considered Season 3?

  • Season 2 Episode 47 - Pup-Fu! (Season Finale) aired on 10/16/2015

  • Season 3 Episode 1 - Pups Find a Genie - aired on 11/20/2015

  • There is only a one month gap here (seems consistent for the series in these early seasons anyway), why are these episodes not part of the same season per the original network air dates? Seems like they both should be part of the season that started airing in August of 2015, putting them both in Season 3.

  • Season 1 Started in August 2013 and ended in May of 2014

  • Season 2 Started in August 2014, wouldn't it make sense that it would have ended in May 2015 (with episode 41)?

  • In which case, Season 3 would then follow the same pattern as Season 1 and 2 and it would start with the episode that aired on August 24th, 2015. This is also a standard Fall to Spring season run/cadence.

If the goal is to stick to the original air date on the original network, and not use production codes as the ultimate truth, seems like Season 2 of Paw Patrol ended with Episode 41 - Pups Save the Pop-Up Penguins which aired on 5/29/2015. And then, per the original network air schedule and season cadence, Season 3 of Paw Patrol started on 8/24/2015 with the episode Pups Save a Pizza. The only way to look at it differently would be to look closer at production codes and intended production release order, which is not how The Movie Database orders seasons and episodes.

The season 3 is starting on November 20, 2018 because Nickelodeon has advertised the start of the new season being on that date.

Unfortunately, the official site was made in Flash and the numbering of the episodes isn't anymore viewable. But, we still have this Nickelodeon fansite which indicate that November 20, 2015 was the start of a new season.

Our main goal is to use the seasons and episodes numbering used by the original network. We only amend them when they aren't broadcasted in order.
