If it weren't for a few other shows on tv(GOT, TWD, black sails) this might be the best show on tv. Season two ended as strong as season one began. True to source material and major production. The only thing this show needs is higher ratings.

Season 3 is taking to long to come out... What the hell are they thinking about a September release

I was surprised about that, too. That's almost a year and a half between seasons.

Game of thrones same thing, starz has filming issues... Spartacus had gaps, da Vincis demons had gaps. It may have to do with what show they go up against... or perhaps there may be more episodes, it a big production show I can say that.

Maybe the season is wrong for filming on the water. "Voyager" has a large portion that happens on the sea.

I don't know about Games of Thrones, never watched it, but TWD is nowhere near the quality of Outlander and Black Sails is just a tad behind. I wish TWD had the same quality in production, writing and acting...

@Il_Melandri I think I kind of was referring to the level of popularity more so than the quality, I completely agree with you.

I just finished binge-watching the entire series and it is one of the my favourite series now. That finale left me so excited I'm going to begin reading the books to find out what happens.
I just wish Outlander was more popular. I also watch Game of Thrones and I love it and I'm sure all GoT fans would love Outlander as well if they knew about it.

The Last Kingdom has a year and a half between the first and second season. I'm afraid that might cost them some viewers... The second season starts March 16th. Outlander seems to have a bigger following (so many book readers, but so does TLK) so they probably think they can get away with it.
I only watched the first season of Outlander. I gather from the posts above that the second season is worth it. So I think I'll give it a try soon.

I'm a 36 year old man and I'm telling you I'm in love with the show. The tone, settings, cast, production, and story are simply $... kudos gabaldon.

IMO, this is the sexiest show on TV, by a long shot.

Man, this show really exceeded by expectations. And the first two seasons were so different, yet both so good. Production values, performances, storytelling all great.

I only watched the first season as well. I lost interest about halfway through. I just cannot stomach the woman they cast as Claire. She looks NOTHING as described in the books, and it just ticks me off. I have no comments on the person they cast as Jamie. I never could get real sense of what he was supposed to look like when I read the books. Randall looks almost as I pictured him. The only way IMO they could have done better would have been to cast Jason Isaacs in the role (because of how he looked in The Patriot mega sigh).
Anyway, I really wish I could have gotten into the show, but I just couldn't. I like the books better.

I just got into this show. I binged season 1 yesterday & I couldn't finish season 2 in time for season 3 so I'll be caught up by tomorrow. Shows like this, IMO deserve time to plan out. I've never read the books but because it's a period piece, they need time for costumes, CGI, props needed for whatever era their in. So it shouldn't be rushed.
TWD could have a better production but AMC is cheap, hence part of why their getting sued. The show went the opposite way Frank Darabont wanted and trust me, if he were still running the show, it would of been totally different.
Spartacus had a reason. Their lead actor had cancer and they were trying to wait for him to recover but unfortunately it was fatal so they had to go ahead and recast.

What a great season premiere. I loved the Boston scenes. The opening scene of the aftermath of Culloden, a great send off for Rupert, a character I never was invested in but a devastating loss. Sam really looked like a man who wanted to die. And if course the death match between Jamie and Black Jack. When this show is really on, like this episode, it really hits it out of the park.
