The addition o f Stephen McHattie to the show is great. I have been a fan of his since first seeing him in the Ron Pearlman TV series "Beauty and the Beast". While specializing in villains he can do an assortment of characters so it makes me double interested in seeing just what this 170 year old man is really about.

Yes, indeed, his character creeps me out, in a good way, acting-wise. Because he's always so calm and distinguished in his words, but he seems to be very cruel and without a consciousness/interest for anyone else but himself or for his sake.

Does he often play the villains? I remember watching some of his movies, but I can't really remember his characters in those movies ... :-(

What I'm looking forward is to watch whether he's actually 170 years old or an imposter? I'm not sure about it yet, but I think he might be some crook telling lies, hiding his true identity. I know this show is partly sci-fi, but for me it would make more sense for him to be a mad scientist and some kind of "cult leader" with his followers. Like the young woman, Mud - she's scared and in awe of him at the same time, not free to judge on her own about who he really is?

Best wishes,

Interesting thought, jamar. Is is really 170? Who would know? Anyone who really knows him is dead! Without him submitting to tests, no one.

As for Mchattie, he tends to play the cold ruthless types but I have seen him also play the advice giving sageous characters, too.

A great film with him starring is "Ponty Pool" where he plays a down and out radio talk show DJ dealing with a rage like outbreak that is for once not a virus, but instigated by sound! Certain phrases, not always the same, are driving people mad! Well done all around. One of those VOD films that got away and is in no way mainstream. He rocks as the Stern like character hopelessly drunk and on his way out but rallies when he gets a grip on what is happening. Peace!

I hope we'll find an answer to that in the show. But you're right, no one would be really alive anymore.

Ah, okay, good to know.

Thanks for the suggestion! That sounds really ... weird. I hope I can find this movie somewhere and watch it one evening! smiling_imp

Who did he play in B&B??? I'm thinking of one of two people. The one Vincent called "Father," and the guy who came in the last two seasons and killed Katherine.

He was the latter (Roy Dotrice played Father) He played Gabriel, the man who wanted the baby Vincent and Katherine conceived. He was introduced near the end and was responsible for Katherine's death (and the taking of her child). I believe Vincent dispatched him. The show went on without Linda Hamilton but not for much longer.

OK, thank you. I had a lot of trouble watching those last couple of seasons. The show really jumped the shark at that point for me. It wasn't that Linda Hamilton was no longer in the series, as Ron Perlman was definitely still a draw for me and I could have watched the show with only him in it, but it's the turn the show took that bothered me.

Looks like our intuition about him not being who he said he was was indeed correct!

Haha, we did good, didn't we? rofl

I loved Stephen McHattie's acting at the end of episode 5, when he was so angry about Cosima not hurting Janis that he took the gun. The whole scene was very good, but his face at the end was gruesome.

Now I want to see what happens to P. T. when Rachel finds out that he's a liar. knife
