I will comment more but WOW what a great opening to S3. A bit of continuation on what's happened in Miracle and a prelude to Kevin's continued journey. The killing of his hunting buddy was intense. The dog taking the sandwich or evidence was classic. I personally think this ride of S3 is gonna be wild and crazy. Son of a gun that was a trip. Even the opening of seeing the family continue to expect a rapture type event and how it never came and eventuallly the father son bailing. The ending certainingly seemed like leap forward into the future.

Please comment more, I am interested in others theories/opinions/synopsis/explanations and there will probably be some things I won't pick up on but others will and explain it (the main reason why I loved that old site).

Loved the episode too. Some things I was confused about at first , but as the episode continued it was cleared up (for example:Kevin and the bag incident- I didn't understand at first why he was doing that, but by the end I did)

I do think the S3 start with 1800s people was to put us into mode of what's happened in past sometime reoccurs or how once long ago something similar happened, Rapture or waiting again for it again as they seem to be doing each anniversary. Will it happen again or NOT again like with the 1800s event of never occurring. Previous post of Millerites was very very interesting and factually true and copied????

Megs story also interesting before drone strike. Basically saying you can only go so far with Guilty Remnants before someone "bites your face off". Hence the drone strike.

@Invidia doesn't trailer show them all or most of characters in Australia? If so, Nora isn't leaving Town solo unless the story becomes she leaves and Kevin chases her??? Not sure you are following the storyline very well. Remember Kevin's dad Kevin Sr is already down under so guessing we find out soon why they trek down under.

I didn't see Nora-Sarah joining Nuns, she clearly was selling all the dove/birds to Nun. Being paid to bring them all to Nun. She wasn't dressed or doing anything that would indicate she joined Nuns?????

I'm trying to help you a bit in sticking with storyline and facts. Maybe re-watch a few more times.

Don't have time to respond in my full book length posts, but I'm glad I came here right after and read your "future Nora" statement because I actually ran that scene back again to see who the heck that was but it does indeed appear to resemble a future much older Nora and what of the barrel full of unread messages? What's that deal about?

My initial thoughts are these messages are like the ones being sent to the 1800s pastor who kept changing the date of reckoning. However, I'm not certain what the message says? She gave it no attention other than to pull it and throw into can which we see is filled to near top of discarded messages sent via the doves/pidgeons. Her main concern was gathering up those birds for transport to Nun for money. So what was the purpose of taking money for birds? Were they being used again which makes no sense since the message sent with at least one of birds was quickly discarded.

Remember in S2 we learned of Erika Murphy burying the birds & digging up dead bird later finding they would return to life and fly away. Is there a connection with that? I think no but then what?

Wish I didn't have to wait but looking forward to how this plays out. I'm sure someone has another angle or theory

Good season premiere. I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

After some thought and as some things that happen are so 'OUT THERE', I thought about that damn dog suddenly showing up and taking that sandwich in a bag while dead hunting buddy Dean covered up.

Is there any chance at all it was an event that was going to happen, hunting buddy Dean getting killed and dog running with sandwich--prediction ? Meaning, he said there was DOG DNA on sandwich if he tested it he would find Dog DNA. Well, after the dog grabs the damn sandwich and is flinging it about, there is now Dog DNA all over it. Just saying, due to oddities of this particular character hunting dogs in S2 and initially no one believing Kevin in S2 this guy Dean existed and remember the truck he kept telling all about ends up in his driveway.

I find or think the writers for this last season are on an all assault no holds bar 'mind F**K' for us fans. Love it all but it's also tough having to wait.

The Mapleton Gazette was on Michael's laptop.

The headline says "Mapleton Rebuilds After Heroes Day Violence," which is likely a reference to the horrific Memorial Day plot the GR carried out at the end of season one. But it might be a new story about recent violence?

Either way, we're very curious to know what Michael was perusing the Mapleton Gazette for. Maybe he was filling in the details for that section of the Book of Kevin?

OK, I re -watched the episode, paused, re-watched and paused again, etc., and here are some things I observed/concluded/pondered/wondered:

on second viewing, I think Dean blew the dog whistle to test Kevin to see if Kevin could hear it. Kevin's face when he turned around and realized that Dean was blowing the whistle as a test for him . I think the realization of that on Kevin's face- Dean mistook that look as Kevin having heard it, that's why Dean tried to kill him and said " You've changed" right before attempting to shoot him.

I thought it was significant that Kevin still wore his crown after everyone else had removed their party hats.

Kevin's back tats: a large bird, a church steeple, a water tower, 5 sporadically placed flowers, 2 (possibly 3) winged insects-could not tell what insect, and surprisingly to me a very large rat. wtf? is that about? He also has a small pair of scissors tattooed on his right inside wrist. (yes I did do a lot of pausing on Kevin)

When Matt said,"It's only one copy written by hand." There was some serious emphasis on written by hand. Of course they would back it up on laptop.

The Books of Kevin being written by Matthew, John and Michael- aren't those 3 names/apostles in the bible?

Nora/Sarah looked so old I did not even recognize her on first viewing (good thing for this board) , I wonder just how many years into the future that was. And when she said "No" to knowing Kevin, it reminded me of someone (Peter?) in the bible denying knowing Jesus.

Someone disagreed about this- I think that woman was a nun, her scarf/material wrapped on her head was shaped like the nuns habit.

Book was not burned , in the previews Nora is asking Kevin if she can take it on the plane trip to Australia .

Also in previews, Erika will be back, Nora and Erika are shown jumping on a trampoline.
