Are we going to get any answers? Or is it going to be another Lost? At this point I'm very cynical about these shows. I don't necessarily need everything tied up with ribbons, but a reveal on the overarching mystery would be super duper great. Because last season with the evidence that supernatural events are continuing to take place has got to mean something.

I never read the novel, but from what I understand it never went beyond what we saw in Season 1 and no answers were ever given. It was more about the societal implications of the losses.

But they've gone way over the edge here, and if it ends with something obscure I'll be disappointed.

Now I feel needy. Somebody hold me.

I rewatched the last episode of last season. His entire entry into the house, being greeted by his whole family as if everything is just lovely, makes me think that nothing has been normal since he got shot. It was way too surreal. Maybe even since before.... since the burial? Earlier? Something has shifted. Maybe he never got out of purgatory. Maybe he's always been in it and is only getting more clarity now.

The universe is catering to him. He can't die. Quarries will drain to save him. Everything is about him. They've dropped the story line with his father's "insanity" and the voices, but it's still relevant.

The introduction of so many bizarre supernatural elements ever since they got to Miracle is a departure from the rest of the series. Even the weird, circus-like atmosphere of the tent city outside was just too weird. It all feels like metaphor rather than reality.

Yes, I also read that the book ends with the baby dropped off. All of this since has been HBO.

The voiceover of the stewardess was great. I think it's not really anything from the show and is just an ad narration for atmosphere.

I guessed they wouldn't give us answers, and "satisfying" is subjective. What's satisfying to writers isn't what is satisfying to the audience. Many shows tend to end on a note I would call more "self satisfied."

He got shot at the end of the most recent season. He got better.

They don't have deer but they have spiders that can eat a toddler.

I really hope they don't to a Lost style purgatory cop out (that one still rankles. I wish I could find the interview after season 2 when they SWORE it wasn't purgatory).

Rick waking up in a mental institution would be an example of a cop out ending. I'm nervous they're heading that way. I'd rather have no answers than that answer.

Stupid senile people with chest colds (aka me) should never be allowed to use the internet. I had just come fresh from the walking dead boards and had rick on the brain.

I'm going to punish myself with hard drugs. That should teach me to think better.

Hello, I think that there are some similarities with the story of the rapture in the bible. There is probably no much to understand beside mankind is experiencing the end of time. Kevin can't die because he must be kind of chosen by god to take care of the child, with Nora. But I'm a bit lost either. Great show. Can't wait for the next season.

But just saying Kevin is a sinner ok, we are all, but he repent the day he buried Patti, by reading Job etc. And Kevin is a good man, a loving father, a police officer who helps others. He was simply lost even before this famous day. And the guilty remnants understood that mankind is experiencing the end of time. They are acting this way because they know that there is no point to continue to live normally. They are smoking because they trust in god, like homage.
And disappearing don't mean that these people have been killed, imo. We'll see. I have high expectations in season 3.

I agree with you that what GR are doing is not christian, but they are religious, at least in Perrota's book.

FAQ

Who are the Guilty Remnant? We are a community of like-minded people who live together, dress in white, and take a vow of silence. We serve as Living Reminders of God's Awesome Power. His Judgment is upon us. Are you a cult? No. We are members of grass-roots movement. And we would love for you to join us.

What's with the name? What are you guilty of? God judged us on October 14th. If we weren't guilty, we wouldn't be here.

Why the white clothing? To set us apart. To make it clear we no longer belong to the Old World. The Old World ended on October 14th.

Why do you smoke so much? We smoke to proclaim our faith. But smoking's bad for your health. God's judgment is upon us. We don't expect to be around for very long.

Are you Christians? Labels belong to the Old World.

Why the Vow of Silence? Because talk is cheap, and we're tired of wasting our breath. The New World demands action

End of citation.

By reading JOB, Kevin noticed that it could be his own story, a God who test him most of his live. (lost a wife, lost a baby, lost faith at the end) But Kevin still stand for the right.

I respect your opinion either. Have a good day

That's correct it is not a loss, but the family still been tear apart, and we can feel some sufferings on every members of this family. For the rest, I don't really have some final opinions, so maybe, I will think about, and simply maybe waiting the 3rd season.

Just want to answer if Kevin is Atheist or not, I think yes, he is atheist. But this Kevin took his father for a crazy because he was speaking alone. And again the turning table, Kevin's turn to speak to spirits and being taken for crazy. I only see Kevin starting season 1 as a very rational guy, and finishing season 2 with a resurrection after being shot in Miracle town. That makes me think that he changed little by little. But again, we'll see.

And yes he threw the baby, this one wasn't the baby Jesus. And anyway, another baby came back to him and Nora later...

"The Book of Kevin", again a biblical reference ;)

I'm going to love season 3.

I'm sure you remember Wayne, do you think he was a fraud or gifted?
