Jaha was probably thinking about his own son. I guess once he agreed to go with Clarke's list, Jaha knew there could be no deviations. Besides, that guy was a hot head. The bunker is no place for people who incite riots.

However that was all part of jahas plan..he just came up to him and said if I don't make the lottery please look after my son.

Kane persuaded Jaha to choose the 100 from Clarke's original list in order to give at least some of them a chance. (Jaha's plan wasn't very likely to succeed.) The dad wasn't on it so he had to go, even though Jaha had said that a son shouldn't have to grow up without a father. The least he could do now was look after the kid.

I think I missed something about the kids. Were there kids on Clarke's original list? I thought they only put people on the list that were of use to Arkadia. When they were drawing the names in the bunker, they weren't going to draw a hundred. They had 81 names to draw besides themselves and the children.

Ya I'm guessing the kids were automatically spared..but your right when Clark was explaining to Monte why he wasn't on the list..she basically said cuz he was of no use to them.

Clark is an idiot ~ Monte should've been on the list .... isn't he an engineer ? And maybe the only rational head out of the bunch!

Ya he IS an engineer..but i guess cuz they already had engineers..but u think with him being her friend she would have added him..the last 2 or 3 seasons i have really grown to hate Clark.

She did say he was an apprentice engineer and the more qualifies were chosen as messed up as that was. Didn't Clarke say something about all children were spared when she was writing her list?
