Well this leads to more predictions than anything else, I suppose. Seems most likely that the Maddox chick got to Proxima already, using faster FTL technology than Ark 3 had. And now she/her loyalists are trying to make sure Trust doesn't survive to reach Proxima, where he might challenge her. They must have figured out that he was on one of the first Arks, if not for sure THE first, and since they don't know for sure which one, they're taking out ALL of them. Or they might know (more or less) that he was on Ark 1, but they also destroyed Ark 3 - and perhaps others - because those ships were mostly crewed with Trust loyalists.

And I wonder if Ark 2 was actually destroyed? Nobody else on board Ark 1 except for the one Ark 3 survivor would have certain knowledge of that. Perhaps they could find out from the records on Ark 3, if they ever have a chance to check them. But even those records could have been falsified.
