There is plenty of drama in the lives of these vampires, and most of it is brought on by them acting like pompous dickheads, especially NiKlaus, but all the original vampires lord it over everyone else. Every episode, as soon as things seem to going better, one of them does something to screw things up.

Witches are often vindictive bitches as well. The Werewolves in this show seem to be decent, loyal people/wolves, for the most part.

Bella Lugosi as Dracula was a monster, he killed people, drained their blood, seduced women, made slaves of others, and so on. But he wasn't a dickhead. He was creepy, and he was deceptive, but he had manners.
