The ill fated IMDB boards

Well they finally shut those boards down officially, even though it was a day before. They even claimed they were closed on the 20th which is hilarious to say the least. Well either way i'd like to make the best of this website and join everyone in creating a cool enviroment to talk wrestling and whatever else. Now all we need is Tom and Gavin...

It's a shame IMDb decided to shut down their boards, but this site seems like it could be a good replacement. Hopefully the chatter starts to pick up.

I have literally no idea what would possess them to do that, but from what I gather the message boards weren't being used an accounted for a minority of the 'user experience' that they were trying to put forward. I can't imagine that at all considering the majority of people would watch a movie and then discuss it on the forums. Not only that, but you had the politics board etc.

I recognize one person from the IMDB board, hey Nova. I looked over there tonight to say my farewells and it was already closed. It's a shame what they did. Hopefully this board will pick up and be good.

@simian_ninja Well, they really took the minority on this. But they also claim that getting rid of the boards saves money. Since IMDB uses an antiquated board system, they claimed it would cost too much to update their software anyways.
Real reason behind it at least is because of money and upkeep.

Really sucks that those boards are gone. So useful for information, discussions, spoilers, ect. Hope this works out.
