Is each episode contained/completed within the same episode like CSI was? In other words, do I need to start watching this from the beginning (or beginning of a season) or can I start it with any episode and not worry that I have no clue who a character might be because I missed a preceding episode?
I know that there are crossover episodes from one NCIS franchise to the others, so I will keep track of those.
Thanks for your input!

You can pretty much start anywhere. They will occasionally make reference to past characters, and once in awhile they will revisit past plotlines. But for the most part they are self contained episodes.

Some episodes are pretty much self-contained. Some are closely linked with others. For example S8 ep 20, 22,23,24.

Yes you can start anywhere, but why wouldn't you want to start from the beginning? You'd miss some great episodes and cast members.

Some viewers don't stream, so they are at the mercy of the network.

Oh ok thanks. Here in Australia you can't rely on even getting full seasons of anything, it's that poor. So I tend to buy the dvd's of my favourite tv shows.

I do plan on watching all seasons, so I will most likely start at the beginning. Yay!!
