With Lex being full blown villain as he's meant to be, Clana finally going south, Lex killing his father, season finale Arctic had some potential series finale stuff like Clark getting a job offer for The Daily Planet and the last scene with Lex learning Clark's secret.

It should've. I like season nine, but go out on a strong note.

If it had been the last there would be minor changes like characters going episodes before and thinking of leaving for somewhere.
And if it had been the end the last scene would've likely been Clark entering the fortress for his training and then flying out as Superman.

That would be awesome. I think that they could still work in Lex by having him finding the fortress, but suffers memory loss and still becomes suspicious of Clark. That would leave it open for a movie or could even tie in with the 80s series.

Still have Lex finding the fortress perhaps giving another indication why Clark adopts the dual identity. I suspect Lex learning Clark's secret at the fortress was gonna be the grand finale as the original writers said there was gonna be a thing between them.
Clark's journey into becoming Superman was so slow in the first seven seasons I suspect the original intent was gonna be him entering the fortress and flying out as Superman.
