Is becoming my new favorite character. I have always liked him, except when he killed Aethelstan. Who was at the time, my favorite supporting character.
But now, that his wife and daughter are both dead, I wonder where his arc will go? Convert to Islam? He seemed captivated by the religion. And it would be ironic if he converted considering how die hard of a pagan he was.
I hope they don't let his character drift away from the story. I think in real life, he was part of the voyage that discovered Iceland. So hopefully they do him well or at least give him a proper death instead of just forgetting the character existed.

He was always so bizarre!
I wanted to know if he was based on any particular group of Nords, or a real person of the time period.

I looked up a lot of the history of this show because it got me that much interested in it. Learned that Rollo was actually the Duke of Normandy like they showed in the show. But he wasn't Ragnors brother. That was fiction.
Floki is also a Nors legend. But I don't know if this Floki is the same as the real one. Aethelstan was actually the king that united England, and I think the great grandson of Ecbert. So again, I think this Aethelstan was fiction.
This show is based on history, but a loose interpretation in order to add some fictional drama. I think the balance is about as perfect as it gets except for anal retentive history buffs.
