I just decided that I'm going to be posting reviews for every episode of Mission Impossible's seventh and final season. I've already started with Break, which was the season premiere, that introduced Mimi and was the first of the eight hundred times that Jim mentioned why Casey wasn't around (okay, I'm exaggerating. It was only two hundred times). I got a good response on that post so I thought I'd see how I would do on something a little more ambitious. I hope everyone will enjoy them and all sorts of feedback will be welcomed.

Hi Maria! I just read your posts on the "Delete Your Post" thread. You mentioned twice about Casey not appearing (without explanation ... a typical Geller pattern) in the last broadcast episode, Imitation, which for the viewing audience, was the series finale. I thought I would attempt on explanation here, rather than taking up space on that thread.
There were 172 one-hour episodes of the series. The last one filmed in production-order was Pendulum, which had Casey in it, and was # 172. Imitation (according to Patrick White's book) was episode 153, filmed at the same time Lynda Day George was still gone on maternity leave, and Barbara Anderson guest starring as Mimi. I didn't see Anderson's name in the credits for Imitation. Maybe that was the cusp where Casey would be returning and Mimi leaving? Just a theory. And the episode itself does not explain either of their absences. Thank you Mr. Geller
And YES, bring on Season Seven!

Thanks for the info! When I first didn't see Casey, I figured that Jim would say something in passing to explain her absence like he had been doing all season. And to be honest, there was really no place for her in this particular mission. I just published my first review. I've got a smart-a** kind of writing style, so you have been warned! Enjoy!

I've rearranged the episodes of season 7 according to the production code (Source: Wikipedia).
Lynda Day George appears to be absent in 10 episodes (Production Codes: 151-160). It's mentioned that she wasn't in seven episodes due to maternity leave. And the other three?
Barbara Anderson was in seven of those ten episodes.
147 7.19 "Speed"
148 7.2 "Two Thousand"
149 7.7 "Underground"
150 7.4 "Leona"
151 7.1 "Break!" (Lynda Day George: credit only) (Barbara Anderson: Mimi Davis)
152 7.3 "The Deal" (Lynda Day George: credit only) (Barbara Anderson: Mimi Davis)
153 7.22 "Imitation" (Lynda Day George: credit only) (no female team member)
154 7.12 "Crack-Up" (Lynda Day George: credit only) (Marlyn Mason: Sandy)
155 7.5 "TOD-5" (Lynda Day George: credit only) (Barbara Anderson: Mimi Davis)
156 7.6 "Cocaine" (Lynda Day George: credit only) (Barbara Anderson: Mimi Davis)
157 7.16 "The Question" (Lynda Day George: credit only) (Elizabeth Ashley: Andrea)
158 7.9 "Hit" (Lynda Day George: credit only) (Barbara Anderson: Mimi Davis)
159 7.8 "Movie" (Lynda Day George: credit only) (Barbara Anderson: Mimi Davis)
160 7.10 "Ultimatum" (Lynda Day George: credit only) (Barbara Anderson: Mimi Davis)
161 7.11 "Kidnap"
162 7.13 "The Puppet"
163 7.17 "The Fountain"
164 7.15 "Boomerang"
165 7.14 "Incarnate"
166 7.21 "The Western"
167 7.18 "The Fighter"
168 7.20 "The Pendulum"
Side notes:
There were 171 episodes. Some two-part episodes were given the production code with the same number + A or B.
A bit confusing, as this was not done with "The Falcon: Part 1-3", which had the codes 87-89.

Note to everyone: As I mentioned before, I've a smart-a** writing style, but decided to be respectful for the season premiere, Break, since it was the introduction of Barbara Anderson's character Mimi Davis and I always liked her.

Regarding the episodes Casey or Mimi weren't in, Elizabeth Ashley played guest agent Andrea in one episode, and Marilyn Mason played the female guest agent in another.
