Discuss Mission: Impossible

Sam Elliott, who played Dr. Doug Roberts, the season five cast member who a lot of the fans hated, has just been nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in A Star Is Born. Congratulations Sam!

Love him but have NO plans to see the movie.

Neither do I, but just the same, I'm very happy for him.

It's about d**ned time! Great actor. Why he was never nominated for Tombstone as Virgil Earp, I'll never understand.

Me neither. Anyone with such a great voice deserves at least one Oscar nomination, if you ask me. Also, did you ever notice if his voice was that deep when he was on MI?

No, I don't recall his voice being that deep, nor his Western twang being so pronounced. Then, or even in Lifeguard, another of my favorite Sam Elliott films. Brings back great memories!

I like the guy and liked him in Mission Impossible, but I have no plans to see A star is born. I am happy for him though grinning

Everyone is confused about one thing. I'm not encouraging anyone to see A Star Is Born (I certainly don't plan to). I just think it's awesome that a member of the cast got an Oscar nomination.

Not at all it was just a general comment about a movie we donโ€™t wanna see grinning

Okay. I'm glad we have that all straighted out.

I just found out that our boy Sam Elliott was nominated for a SAG award for A Star Is Born but didn't win ๐Ÿ˜ข. I know that he probably won't win the Oscar, but wouldn't it be awesome if he DID?

Did you like Mask and Roadhouse?

Cool dude, glad that Sam Elliott is nominated and it would be a pleasant surprise if he won.

I know him especially from his roles in the western genre. And of course, also as Dr. Doug Robert (a minor role as the occasional fifth team member) in "Mission Impossible (1966-1973)".

"A Star is Born (2018)" has the most nominations and it can become the biggest winner with Lady Gaga - making everyone forget Judy Garland's "A star is Born (1954)" - or the biggest loser.

This year can be one with unexpected winners.

Elliott's greatest opponent for the award is Mahershala Ali, who has already won it once two years ago in 2017 for the movie "Moonlight (2016)".

It is a real mission impossible, so fingers crossed fingers_crossed_tone1 and light the match. relaxed

Roger that, fellow honorary IMF agent wonder2wonder!

@Jayhn1111 sunglasses I liked him in Roadhouse.
