I enjoyed this episode very much, but I thought the whole Barney's brother aspect was a little unnecessary. It seemed like they just wanted to do another one of those personal episodes for one of the team. I didn't think it needed that. It would've been fine just being a regular mission. But it was very good

@Jayhn1111: I think by season 5 the producers felt the audience was getting tired of the cast's characters being such cyphers.
One of the best things that Bruce Geller came up with when he created the show was the idea that by telling the audience so little of the characters backgrounds, it let the audience come up with better (and more risque) theories about them.

I just thought it was unnecessary to do it in this particular episode. I think that could've found a better way but that's my opinion
