I know some have mentioned that they didn't care for the episode, but I really liked it. To see Jim's hometown and the people in it. He couldn't let on to anybody what he really does and unfortunately he had to dupe his good friend that he grew up with. It did not have the same effect on me as the first time I saw it because it was like a whodunnit type of thing and ofcourse I remembered who did it. And what a dirtbag that Joe guy is. I guess he didn't have a clue or care that every woman he had a fling with ended up dead. Too bad they couldn't lock him up and throw away the key. And the way he was holding hands with Dana, right in front of the wife.
And lima, when I got up to the courthouse scene, I saw a couple of blondes there and there were a couple that looked a little like Marcia Brady and possibly Jan from an angle, but I paused it and zoomed and it was not them.

I feel like I should say SPOILERS ahead.
Homecoming certainly broke the Geller formula ("don't give away too much") in more ways than one. It showed the personal side of the agents, in a professional setting, just like The Town. I liked it because it did reveal details of Jim Phelps' personal background. His parents owned a seasonal boat rental business. When Phelps laid a nifty martial arts move on a would-be attacker, his old school chums were shocked. He shrugged it off as his "old Navy training kicking in." What training was that? Navy SEALS?!
She hadn't become Hot Lips yet, but I think this was the first time I remember seeing Loretta Swit in any role. Too bad it wasn't Marcia, Marcia, Marcia at the court house. It caused some good speculation for a while.

Oh yeah that was a great move he laid on the guy. I think it is a nice change once in awhile to see the personal side of the group. I'm not as much into the individual love stories where you see another side of some of the characters, but more seeing them in another setting and getting to know them more as people away from a mission. I don't recall there being any other episode like this for the rest of the series after this. I wasn't really expecting to love the episode either, but I did.
I believe my next batch of episodes are without Willie. Doug was in the previous episode. But so far this is 4 super strong episodes that kick off season 5 in my opinion.

I'm trying very hard to remember this episode, but I can't. And now I know how it turns out. It does follow, that the highest profile guest star is the villain.
When watching old episodes of Combat! the joke was that the biggest guest star would get killed in the end.

That sounds like a good game plan to me!

Speaking of Loretta Swit, during my Classic Hawaii 5-0 marathon (I just finished season two), there are two episodes that have Loretta as the main guest star. It's so strange to see her acting in a tv series other than M*A*S*H. And she's pretty good in these episodes too. Aloha! 🤘

The reboot is okay, but in my opinion their is only one Steve MacGarrett - Jack Lord.

I like the one where it opens with her holding a drunken celebration (oops I mean mourning) for her recently deceased husband.
Spoiler
She can't really be considered a main guest star in that one because she doesn't even make it to the first ad break. She sure does make a strong impression during her limited screen time, though.

True. One of the main guest stars on that episode was Barbara Luna aka Mission Impossible guest agent Elena Delgado.
