I thought that Greg Morris' portrayal of the MI equivalent of Q has been overlooked on this message board. It was amazing the way Barney was able to adapt his skills to any assignment. As I've mentioned before, Mission Impossible was the first American TV show I saw when I returned to the US in 1969 after living in Ireland for 2 years. I adored the entire cast, but Barney held a special place in my ♥ because he was so smart.
It's also important to note that Greg Morris was one of the first African-American actors to have a significant role in a American network show.
Please give us your thoughts on this beloved character, my fellow honorary IMF agents.

The only thing about Barney that bothered me is how many different things they had poor Greg Morris hide in so they could get him inside the bad guys place to work his magic. I think that the season 6 episode The Visitors is one of my favorites because Jim and Casey had to hide in the trunk of a car instead of Barney, for a change!

That just shows his awesomeness and how critical he is to the team. I will keep an eye out for the episode that you mention. Tonight I will be watching Flipside. I am looking forward to season 5. Though I think I recall it having a few episodes that weren't too strong, but that's probably just a case of them being a victim of their own greatness. :)

@Jayhn1111 : And season 5, as you know, was the season when they tried to replace Peter Lupus with Sam Elliott.

Yep I do remember that. I don't remember disliking him, but I like Willie

I, unlike you, was a child of 10 in 1971, when season 5 premiered. When the news about Peter Lupus being replaced was printed, my whole family went nuts. We didn't write protest letters or anything, but we were very upset.

Thank you for your support! I've been trying to create new threads that will Interest people enough to respond. Jetfire59 is currently on the Star Trek board, but I 'm going to get him to come over for a bit.
